My recommendation is that you don't ignore this. I wish all documentation was written to explain something in such incredibly plain English.
I downloaded Chrome, read the whole thing and by the time I was done, was sold. Not in a marketing sense, but in a usability sense. By the time I'd done reading, I was encouraged to use many of the key features.
There's few times when something is free, and out of the box replaces the old. This one accomplishes the feat.
Now, I just want Linux versions, but looking at the technology behind it, I doubt Google will be the one making such a version. Hopefully others will.
This reminds me of that Dilbert strip where Asok explains how "it's not logically possible to prove something can't be done". Wait, I think I'm going into an endless loop while thinking about thinking about thinking about this in the context of string theory.
Sure, but the bible also has quite a number of passages in it where the slaying of non-believers is preached.
Name one scripture in the Bible that would give an adherent cause to kill a non-believer. One that would suggest to me for a moment that I should kill someone who doesn't share my beliefs.
Have you actually read the Bible, or do you just tend to make randomly speculative claims about it?
Now consider a different European country. Instead of selling non-lead-free electronics in the United States, it sells slaves in Sudan. This company would be acting in accord with the law in Sudan.
This is just as far to the right of reality as the parent post is to the left.
Reality is a lot simpler. Should MSN, Yahoo and AOL be allowed to profit while Google sits on it's principles? Google has not yet stated what it will do with Chinese revenues. They can always choose to forego ad revenues in China, or use Chinese profits to fight censorship on another battlefront.
I'd accept DRM only if I can have truly fair use of the materials purchased.
For example, I buy a song on iTunes. I should be able to put it on an MP3 player, burn it to a CD, whatever I want for personal use, including sharing it with close personal friends. I don't expect to be allowed to share it on the internet or sell it or anything not considered fair use.
It is NOT acceptable when my rights for personal use are heavily restricted.
'Mathematics is not something that you find lying around in your back yard. It's produced by the human mind. Yet if we ask where mathematics works best, it is in areas like particle physics and astrophysics, areas of fundamental science that are very, very far removed from everyday affairs.' 'It suggests to me that consciousness and our ability to do mathematics are no mere accident, no trivial detail, no insignificant by-product of evolution.'
Many agree and still many others disagree. The point is the jury's still going to be out for a long, long time yet.
"This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered."
The only way we can make progress on any theory is with an open mind. After all, that's what allowed the theory of evolution to come about in the first place. It's not like the label said that the students should consider the alternative of creation.
Furthermore, there are many scientists at the highest level who have questioned the theory of evolution, and far from all of them are creationists. Anyone who truly wants to advance science and has a degree of humility could readily accept the contents of that label at par.
Go ahead and mod my opinions down, as is so typical in the slashdot forum. It will only make me think moreso than ever that evolutionists are not above engaging in the occasional witch hunt, just like any other, um...religion.
I am an H-1B worker, and I'm the highest paid coder in my company. H1-B workers don't get jobs using Visual Studio or Java or the usual things that American college grads already have (although these skills are a bonus). We do weird coding that no one else wants to do.
Case in point, as part of the process, my job was posted in the largest paper in the city for a couple months. More than once. If you want the job of an H1-B worker, read the papers. If you qualify, take our jobs and if you don't, stfu.
Everything else is just politico-posturing so that we don't blame the government's for job losses.
Correct. And for those plugging GoDaddy, let it be known that I've been getting transfer requests allegedly from GoDaddy asking me to move domains over to them.
You'd be modded up. Most Americans feel they are well-perceived around most of the world. Sadly, this is just not so. Even traditional allies like Canada have provided little support in recent conflicts from both national leaders (excluding Don Cherry) and the general population. And, while Britain is still a monstrously strong ally, it seems to be the leadership rather than the people who give that strong support.
I live in the U.S. and love this country and have made better friends here than anywhere else. However, Americans need to realize that they are increasingly becoming disliked in more than just Islamic radical circles, and take action to be a good world community participant.
As a Canadian immigrant and an H1-B holder in the U.S., I recommend this: read the newspaper ads. My job was advertised in the paper for months to prove that my skills were needed here. This is part of the trauma immigrants go through to try and earn a living here and change nationalities.
And, no I'm not underpaid. I am well compensated for my work, and in fact make as much or more than any other coder in my company, thank you.
If you want the job of an H1-B worker, just read the papers, there are good jobs for the taking as long as we last. It's when we disappear that things are really going awry.
I work for a company and dont always have the choice to release or not. his boss just ordered him.
That's what many Nazis used as a defense. It didn't work then, and it doesn't work now.
Okay, that's a little harsh. Still, we all have a choice when faced with ethical decisions, it just comes down to whether or not we have the guts to make the right choice.
According to itunes, they give the impression that you can burn the songs to CDs to play in any CD player. Once that is done, can't one just rip the CD's into MP3?
I've noticed a dramatic downturn of spam in my hotmail account. Could it be that spammers fear a concerted Microsoft effort to stamp them out more than any other?
A wireless game can cost $40,000 and take a few months to develop, while full-fledged PC and console games can cost $5 million to $10 million and take years to deliver
Does this mean I shouldn't hold my breath for the day when I can play "Duke Nukem Forever" on my mobile phone?
People like bad news. People like controversy. People like to read about SCO taking on the world in what is either going to prove a truly brilliant financial endeavour or one of the most spectacular corporate suicides ever. People detest SCO, so they want to read about what SCO is up to.
In the immortal words of Bill Murray (Groundhog day): "You ARE new, aren't you? You know, people like blood sausage too. People are morons."
It's not insightful to claim SCO suit is baseless for the simple reason that you like Linux......And it's not insightful to claim SCO suit is baseless for the simple reason that you like Linux.
And it's not insightful to be repetitive or redundant, either. But it seems to have worked for you!:-P

What happened to the Alpha candidate? Well, anyways once it becomes actual beta test software - THEN let me know.
The writing on the back looks military in nature, reading: "Tactical Field Gear, standard issue, Level 4 Restricted".
I wonder how smooth your trip through an airport would be with one of these slung over your shoulder.

Don't bother using Ubuntu, since Gnome will be your interface. Just throw out that entire distro.

Which is your favorite P2P filesharing program:
a) Kazaa
b) eDonkey
c) BitTorrent
d) Other
e) Too scared of the RIAA

Is this the one that serves up ads during installation? (As long as the ads end after the install, I guess it's okay).
Does this mean I shouldn't hold my breath for the day when I can play "Duke Nukem Forever" on my mobile phone?
The rest of the SSN's could probably be figured out with some brute force and a Luhn formula checksum calculation.
;-)
I'm not encouraging this; I'm just saying
True, but the battery is lithium ion rechargeable.
