No of course I heard, and extensively read about third-wave feminism. They are not as upfront and blunt about their opinions, instead going with "assume guilty" concept of privilege, dubious historical revisionism of patriarchy, and shifting goalposts of constant redefining of sexual assault to include almost any heterosexual activity, including consensual drunken marital sex. Is there really a functional difference between that and "all heterosexual sex is rape" views? If there is, I have hard time seeing it.
I take it you are not familiar with Andrea Dworkin and new wave feminism. Pretty much any heterosexual sex is rape. Now check your privilege and apologize for being born white heterosexual male, you rapist pig.
Your proposed "more guns" solution to a random gun violence is indeed strange for anyone not immersed in American gun culture. What are you going to propose when everyone carries a gun at all times, yet innocent people still get gunned down?
>>>just f**king arm the teachers What if it is teacher, or someone known to teacher that goes postal?
>>>If you're not meant to be here Why would anyone want to send kids to a place where potential for mistaken judgment call, no matter how unlikely, will result in getting shot? Consider this, on a national scale incidences of school shooting are rather low, but incidences of bone-headed decisions by stuff and teachers are not.
Considering impracticalities of traveling in-person, it is likely the work was carried out with automated drones and the planet was intentionally seeded with life that had a chance to eventually result in something approximating originating species.
More you read about this, more it looks like terraforming. Sure, it all could have happened by chance, but if I was a spacefaring civilization trying to turn Mars-with-water planet into something more suitable for life this is how I would likely do it.
The fuel economy mandate has reasonable intentions. Average consumer over-buys car, and wastes non renewable resources that are mined by unfriendly regimes. To make things worse, manufacturers figured out that they can plaster over any design deficiency with chrome and leather and consumers will go for it. There is a reasonable case for government intervention, it just happened that this specific intervention was overdone and ill-timed and as a result lead to unintended consequences.
You do realize that without similar measures we would still be driving big-block V8 chrome boats that get 10MGP and impale occupants during collisions.
How you did so well? Yes, practice. You can also do well again.
Having to practice means that game has depth and skill element in it. This means outcome of any given encounter is largely down to skill and not luck. I am on my THIRD CS "career" and every time I come back I have to re-learn atrophied skills. "Approachable" means that game will be very shallow - everyone can succeed, but nobody could excel. There still might be some skill-driven meta that is possible (e.g. squad dynamics) but such things are even less accessible to casual market they are aiming for.
In other words, Blizzard forgot what gaming means.
Initially I applauded to US mandating manufacturers must meet fleet average mileage or face penalties. My opinion was that yes, it would make cars marginally more expensive and would move us toward energy independence. Well, I was wrong.
Drilling end up moving us toward energy independence, all gains we had in fuel economy (not an insubstantial amount) are dwarfed by increase in oil and gas production. At the same time, cars did not end up more expensive. Instead manufacturers made a decision to compromise reliability. Questionable technologies like CVT and direct injection, and mis-application of turbocharging made modern cars significantly less reliable than what was produced just 10 years ago. So we end up with marginal fuel economy savings and major energy loss due to additional manufacturing and recycling of cars that no longer last as long.
Recruiters, right after realtors and used car salespeople, are my least favorite people in the world. They rarely help you, instead they frequently impede and often profit off your risks and successes.
Fortunately, technology now allows you to bypass these people. LinkedIn allows you to directly apply to companies, without having to go through recruiters. Even small companies that normally wouldn't have online application process.
I don't pirate - I can afford to buy more games than I have time to play. My dedicated gaming PC does not have any of my work tools, so it is vanilla Win7 machine with absolutely nothing out of ordinary. Yet in the recent years I have been tripped by DRM more than once. Two times it was game-breaking bad.
Considering that average gamer is 30s-something with plenty of disposable income, why is gaming industry prioritizes stopping pirates over increasing legitimate sales? Even if it was possible to somehow stop piracy, do they really think it would meaningfully increase sales? People who buy games, and people who pirate games are not the same group of people!
Someone in the know please explain why this is needed? I am not aware of any non-mobile hardware powered by Qualcom graphic chips. Is this for going to be bitcom-mining GPU farms?
Consumers need to be educated on dangers of buying into 'Internet of Things' and 'Smart' appliances. I think the only way is to release and publish exploits, so consumers realize that these "features" are not under their control.
Not if you manage to fuel it with hot grits.

If /. taught me anything this week, we need to figure out a way to 3D print Misogynistic Robotic Overlords that run on Linux.

Unless you can find a way to network breastfeeding or find a way to run Lunix on it, I don't see how the topic is appropriate for /.

While this might not be an option for FPS console gamer, PC gamers can always bring along a laptop with decent built-in speakers.

Maybe aliens evolved past corporate quarterly profit shareholder "optimization", or maybe they went extinct because of that.
We will never know.
Just play CoD or any other FPS very loudly in the hallway.

>>>4) A Cat license.
While there is no cat license, there is freedom-oppressing limitation of only 7 adult cats per household!
>>>Canada is a huge ally and trust worthy
I don't know about that. Have you seen Canadian Bacon?

Could someone please explain this with a car analogy?

Well, yes it is Onion story
Maybe if you don't have any Facebook friends and want someone to read your feed? At least this way you can be fairly certain that spooks will read it.
Well, I stand corrected.
