His wealth helped him get a transplant faster. Period. It was documented. Jobs was on all of the transplant lists across the country. Most people cannot do this. They cannot fly across the country at the drop of a hat. Jobs can. That is why his wealth enabled him to get a transplant faster.
As to why he got the transplant faster then other people, I think his wealth had something to do with that too. For the real answer we need to speak with the people who run the transplant lists.
Dumb phones do not get the press, but they are still outselling smart phones in numbers. Many people just want a phone. I thought nokia out sold all the smart phone combined world wide with their dumb phones? Unless that is pure bs put out by 5 different news sites?
Wasn't the Titanic one of the first ships where to turn left you turned the wheel left? Earlier ships you had to turn the wheel right to turn left. One story was that the people at the wheel at the time were new and were not fully aware of the change.
Don't forget that many newer TVs (LCD and LED) can connect to the net for their apps and things like netflix. If IPSs start forcing the charge per device, there will be a lot of bitching for a while.
I remember way back when the cable companies and verizon hated people using routers. They wanted people to pay per device. They actually did not support you if you had an issue. You had to connect a computer directly to the modem for them to help you. Then times and their business practices changed. They started selling (or renting) the routers with the modems. I could see the move to IPV6 as an excuse for ISPs to charge per device for a while.
People have been calling software applications "apps" for years before the iphone existed. My bosses in the mid 90's said to make sure all of their apps were on the new computer. These were not geeky people by any means. I am sure people called software "apps" before that.
I know many people who called applications "apps" since the mid 1990's. Granted these were not phone or mobile device applications back then, but the term was used long before 2008. These were not computer geeks, unless you call the 90's CEO, COO, and other managers and bosses geeks back then. The term started out as install my software applications. Which was shortened to applications. That was shortened to apps. This was around 1996-1997. Apps just stuck from that point on.
The catch is Apple's filing states via the internet or network. That will probable make it happen. Which is sad, the trademark office would shoot it down without that wording. Since the internet has been a source of software applications (or apps) for years before 2008, it should shoot this down.
Patents should have a 1-2 year time limit if there is no tangible product. If they cannot create a product (even a semi functional prototype) in that time, the patent is ended.
A group of people protesting outside a shop peacefully (with permits where required) will most likely not get arrested.
People involved with these DDoS attacks will be arrested.
Besides they are attacking corporations/people for not giving any more money. This is a modern version of the mob getting 'protection' money from stores. The stores stop paying they get attacked. They pay, they are left alone.
Which version of outlook are you talking about? If it is the 2007 or 2010 versions, did you install that desktop search program on XP? It is there by default on 7 and vista. That is what the search uses in 2007 and 2010. The earlier version of outlook sucked with search. I think that is why microsoft decided to use an outside program to search with outlook.
Then again, I organize me email. I put about 97-99% of the email into some folder. I found a system that worked for me. I can do this with outlook, apple mail, gmail, other web based email things, every email client I have used over the years. The email client to me doesn't matter as long as it doesn't get in the way of sending and receiving email messages.
Email like operating systems are just tools. They should not be a religion. Use the best tool for the task at hand. I'll be flamed for that, but it is just the way I approach things. Absolute fanboyism is bad in my book.
Obama said that this health care overhaul would cost less. Grand parent AC is correct. Obama did say that during one of his speeches in front of congress. The problem is that many people saw through his 'cost savings' and realized that the government subsidizing health care is not a cost savings. Also many health care plans are charging the company more instead of the regular working person. The costs are just being paid for by someone else.
Health care cost have been going up since the baby boomers are retiring and using the health care system more. Since they are retired, they are fewer people paying into the system. Yes retirees pay, but working people usually pay more.
Actually facebook keeps the data and sells it to their 'partners'. Who in turn sell that info to their partners. And so on.
I found this out when I was getting my info removed for a people info database. They got the info about me from facebook. I do not now or have ever had a facebook account. My sister does have a facebook account. All of her contacts were in that people data website. It took a few phone calls, emails, and threats to contact the state attorney general office to get it removed.
Installing a new OS drive is like getting a new computer. At least to the operating system. You create the users again and import/copy over the user data. You need to install all of the programs again. That is how windows is. It is a pain.
If your talking about adding a second drive, you create a 'library' on the second drive. To do that you need to have the drive indexed. This is how we 'moved' the document, music, picture, etc. folders off of users local machines to the file server at work. That is what we needed to do with windows 7. With XP, just click on the My documents logical folder on the desktop. Enter in the new location. Select yes when asked to move all files to the new location. It was a lot easier in XP than windows 7.
What was the previous use? My guess is they mixed it in with the chicken feed to fatten up the next batch. They'll need a new source of oil. Maybe corn oil?
Dirty jobs covered this. The dead chicken and turkey are composed into fertilizer. So in a way you are right.
The doctors and nutritionists that I spoke to (just had my yearly doctor visit) said a balanced diet including meat is best. So are my doctors are bs'ing me? Or are they not just vegetarian only people?
Isn't 3d printing just a CNC machine? These are not new. Program in what you want to create. The program is loaded into the milling machine. After a while the milling machine finishes what was programmed in. Why the new term?

I do not think it is the people of Iran that the world thinks is evil. The current leadership of Iran is the issue.

I think you need to step away from the reality distortion field for a while.

Why was Google collecting that data in the first place?
Google accidentally collected extra data?
Patents should have a 1-2 year time limit if there is no tangible product. If they cannot create a product (even a semi functional prototype) in that time, the patent is ended.
Remember humans and other animals have iron in their blood.
This sounds like a plot for a sci-fi movie. Giant microbes that feed on iron. Any kind of iron will do.

They are called "cheerleaders" and they are the first to get fucked.
You obliviously never saw the cheerleaders at my school.

Or both?

Make that Diet Coke, and Coke Zero.
Those are not transparent and heve more artificial additives.
So if you are doing a lot of XXX rated things in front of the TV you are going to get more porn and lube ads?
Actually, the parietal lobe is on the other side. If you apply to the forehead you mess with the stuff that makes "you".
And the problem being?
The newer centurions also bled red when shot. They were gooey in the inside as well.
I so wanted someone to say when they shot the raider or centurion: "They are gooey on the inside"
