Updating itunes shouldn't force an update of the PAID version of quicktime. If only the free version of quicktime is installed, then fine update that version. But the paid version should only be updated with another paid version.
Lower the max level down. Keep the stuff your fighting high. Then the overpowered stuff makes sense since it is no longer over powered. I have never played wow but I have played other games. Having the max player level set and never changing forces the players to use skill/tactics to beat things.
It can be a pain but you can put XP on them. Just need to hunt down the drivers. That nvidia video driver was a pain to get. The two XPS 1330s after switching to XP were very nice laptops.
DTS doesn't work under 64-bit windows? I have to check that case of soda I just got. Just because microsoft calls it by a different name (import and export wizard instead of DTS) doesn't mean it is not DTS. They just put DTS into MMC and renamed it. Similar screens, the steps look to be the same too. It has been a while since I used DTS (last I used it was SQL 7.0). I usually use BCP from the old blinking cursor.
Perhaps microsoft is afraid that if the open source community gets a starting point for office file formats, then the newer formats can be reverse engineered?
I work in the US and have looked at my pay stub. Try looking at the percentage of ones income to what that person pays in taxes. Remember that after $75,000 the amount of tax you pay goes down. So someone making $44,000 a year only get a few hundred less per check then someone making $74,000 a year. Once one clears the $75,000 mark the pay check start to go up fast. So yes the top income people pay less (percentage wise) then the lower income people. Middle through upper middle income people pay roughly 40% of their pay in taxes. The rich do not pay 40% of their total income in taxes. In pure dollars a rich person pays more then a non rich person. When you look at the percentage of what they pay in taxes to what they earned, the rich are paying less then the middle class.

The tides are low but the the tides still happen. NYC(?) put a few electric turbines in the east(?) river and is generating enough power for a supermarket. I saw it on TV. They had a few problems with the turbines getting wrecked at first but they are running a supermarket with only the power generated from the turbine no land lines. This is a only a test. They said that it surpassed what they thought so they are adding more turbines. Maybe the city that never sleeps could be self sufficient for electricity at least.
depends on what ati card you have. I have an old ati pci ati card that worked with lower resolutions (800X600). Needed to edit the config file then it worked for the higher (1600X1200). With ubuntu 7 it worked at 1600X1200 right after reboot. I did add in the extra ati packages and that made it smoother. These new packages do list newer cards (1900 series for example). I have not seen any of the 3800 series in the package manager yet. Also if you are not against it ati/amd has a linux ati driver package on their website. (http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html) need to pick 32 or 64 bit support and what card you are using. Ati is getting better so they say and so far it looks like they are trying. Time will tell.
As far as your time line of events goes, you can be right or wrong it doesn't matter. But the most animals that are that hairy do not live in warm or hot environments. Also most animals would not wade through deep snow, they would walk on harder (rock/ice) surfaces. Have you ever tired to wade through 3-5 feet of snow? it is a really slow going. Also the mammoth studies have said that the thick fur was good at keeping the mammoths warm in the cold environment. Look at elephants. The ones in colder places have more hair then the ones in warmer places. So wouldn't it seem likely that mammoths did live in colder places? Mammoths are very similar to elephants?
64 bit is the catch. Even though microsoft has 32 bit versions. If the hardware can run 64 bit then vista runs better. I tried this with a 32 bit processor and a 64 bit processor and the rest of the machine was the same. (2 GB ram, areo graphics card, 300 sata drive, all the drivers work no errors) with the 64 processor the system ran fine. Use the 32 processor, super slow doing everything. loading apps, surfing, simple things took forever. On the 64 bit processor everything fine. Granted I am not talking lightning fast here this is older hardware. But taking 5 minutes to create a PDF on the 32 bit processor and under a minute on the 64 bit processor (same document) on the same machine otherwise did point out something. I thought vista was supposed to be 64 bit only. They added 32 bit in at the end. Maybe there is some truth to that.
free windows to play games on, perfect. The only reason I wanted to try vista was for games. Microsoft monitors my game only computer. They see I play and that is it. No email, no web surfing, nothing else. Maybe microsoft will see that people only play games with their shiny new os.

The game stop by my parents has like 20 Wiis (as of Thanksgiving with an order in for 100 more so the store manager says) He thinks he will sell them to people visiting over the holidays. If not He'll send them to a different store. The area is not a well off area. It is safe (no daily shooting) just very few BMWs and other high end cars. Most of the people around there work in the farming (chicken/corn/potatoes/ a few others things) industry. While they are paying their bills and many do have the extra money to spend on a video game, they do not. More hunting and fishing the playing video games.
Maybe a 2-3 hour drive will get you that Wii at regular store price. I did ask if the store if they might sell them online. They said no, I still think they are going to though.
Don't forget the people who point to the monitor and call that the computer. These people are not computer geeks but it is still funny when they say that.
Now we are going to have a vista home capable, vista home premium capable, vista enterprise capable, vista ultimate capable stickers. Don't forget the 32 bit and 64 bit version stickers as well. Then we will start seeing people talking about how many 'capable' stickers their computer came with. More stickers == more power. More stickers on your car does not make it go faster. But more vista capable stickers that come on your computer might mean it is faster.
