    If they have your PIN number, they're automatically authorized to use the card, even after it's reported stolen!

    Well, there is a difference between reporting a card as stolen, and telling the bank to disable the card because of fraudulent use, no? Even so, if reported quickly enough, the bank ought to be able to credit your account back for any transactions that clear, and send you affidavits to sign in the mail afterwards.

    Questions like: You are standing in a cave and it is dark. What do you do? Answer: Light torch. Response: You do not have a torch. etc....

    Anyone remember the name of those games?

    Stop doing the hacks, and let IE6 render them ugly and broken, while compliant browsers will render them correctly.

    Consider that many users will not realize it is their browser. They will simply decide your site is screwed up, and leave promptly. This is not a mistake to be eager to make in many scenarios.

    I've found that there's not a lot of easily searchable information regarding converting to pure div usage (maybe 2-3 sites that don't go into nearly enough detail). Any good links?

    I was considering to put one together, a really complete reference,.... BUT I would build the page out to have a table layout, with div wrappers inside each td holding the content, and then see how many emails I get about it. ;)

    But if using tables makes it easier for you, more power to you. It's just really sad to see people bash CSS because it's too hard for them to implement.

    I was under a strange impression that CSS could be used for styling tables (minus cellpadding and cellspacing). Silly me. :)

    I feel a little dirty every time I parade around in branded clothes.

    As do I. This is why I have a seam-ripper sewing tool and carefully remove all alligators and these types of things. It's not as involved as one might think.

    It has given me a new appreciation for slashdot moderation!

    I acquired a new appreciation of /. moderation a couple days back when I replied to a very very helpful post and stated 'Mod parent informative'. I figured that having karma of excellent would make theirs (a 1 default) more visible and useful. People did so and that post was boosted to a 5 Later in the day, someone saw my reply, and it got modded -2 redundant.

    More importantly I can tell the CC company to bugger off where as the bank is not going to put cash back into my account.

    My account was compromised a few months back, by fraudulent use of a bank/debit/check card of mine. Interestingly enough, the bank (once made aware (less than 8 hours later) that a string of fraudulent purchases had been made) did provide a credit back to my account for each one that cleared, and then personally took up issue with the individual corporations' fraud departments (Yahoo Personals, Samsclub.com, etc etc). Process-wise, I did have to sign an affadavit for each individual instance and throw them back in the mail.

    So I am trying to decipher why I was modded down as redundant here. When I first posted, the parent was at a score of 1, and so I used my default score of two to make it more visible, so it could get proper credit. It did, and quickly climbed to 5, from 1. So... what's up with this?
