"CentOS mainly changes packages to remove upstream vendor branding and artwork"
It is sad that so many of you are "ok" with this. RH does 99.999% of the work and CentOS takes it all and rebrands it and that is about it. Nice. I guess you would consider that a "benefit" of the GPL.
"So it was necessary to place the ad in such a way as to cause it to be rejected. But not too whacko, using bad language would have drawn attention to regular people. So they lucked out on this trademark infringement thing."
Eclipse isn't pure "Java" in the sense that it uses SWT and not SWING for its UI. I know SWT is Java, of course, I mean that SWT isn't everywhere that SWING is and it takes more time to get SWT up to speed because it is using "native" widgets. SWT relies on the carbon API and not the cocoa so hopefully that will change as well. Netbeans rocks on OSX.
I think that they are more upset with the attitude more than anything. If you read the LKML threads it is matter of fact "there I changed it and now it is GPL2 only".
As I read the license, forcing a modified program to run in a sandbox with insufficient privileges just because it has been modified would fall under "or interfered with". But even if a device manufacturer did win in court on this alleged loophole, it would become subject to 1. public humiliation and 2. FSF releasing all new versions of its software under GPLv3.1. I don't agree with you about the "interfered with" and I am sure a whole lot of people would also. If the modification were made I am sure you would see a shift away from the GPL because "free" then becomes "restrictive".
I happen to think Sun is correct on this one but the courts (right or wrong) will decide the issue.
Yes...that one is annoying to me coming from the Windows world but I adapt to it.

Did you read that article? Most of those do not credit Christianity with helping the fall.
"Free. For the Express edition."
Exactly! The "Express" edition.

You are wacko.
And Google knows it.

I thought straightening up the libraries was one of the goals of PY3K?
No, I don't think so. Nobody that I know of in the IT fields LIKES Vista AT ALL. The same wasn't true of XP.
Hey scud, he didn't say that at all. Try reading and understanding before posting.
Unfortunately that will never happen. Most politicians don't believe in a non-adapting Constitution so they will not likely vote in someone who does.
After reading that, I just wonder if you really are that big of an idiot. Must be so, you posted it.
I hope they mean:

[ ] Female
You are too stupid to be on the Iternet. Please shut off your computer.
That is just a stupid argument. If it is wrong it is wrong and should be pointed out and fixed.
Please read before posting. I did not say "I". I said "they". I should ask how you manage it because you seem to be lost in such a short post.

Microsoft only made a statement it doesn't apply to them. They are going to sue over that?
Please don't! The ACLU is a horrible organization. I would put them 2nd to the UN.
If we could get the losers Biden, Schumer and Kennedy to resign. That would be a much happier day for America.
Before the anti-religious bigots came out...
What a sad state of "freedom". I can't wait for the hunter-killers to be released.
200 hours is a looooong time for something like that. FISA needs updating big time.
