Apparently Google accessible search(GAS) is not that accessible.

Assuming that this actually works and GAS is easy to use for the disabled then shouldn't it return itself as a top result.

There's nothing "Wow" in that, but yes it definitely seems to be a bad week for India.

Also GSLV and the IRBM are separate programs under separate organsations.

GSLV is a civilian program under the Indian Space Reseach Organisation(ISRO), while the Agni-III (IRBM) program is a defense project under the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). And one more thing is that the Indian engineers don't have one big convention where all engineers from different parts of India come together to express their disappointment over the failures.

  4. Re:And yet they're still stuck with the caste syst on Why Apple Backed out from India? · · Score: 4, Interesting

Just shows, how lack of proper details about a situation can manifest itself into prejudice. Caste system in India is a non-entity in the way it used to be. The reserved castes (earlier called lower castes) now get active affirmative with as much as 70% of some colleges purely earmarked for them. Publicly distinguishing people based on caste can get you to jail
The caste system does not violate human rights, and commenting on an issue without understanding it just makes people look asinine.

And pro-google people will think that its a cool feature. A vast majority of computer users around the world are fully capable of enabling this feature and never realising that they have done so. And if they have any inkling of sensitive data then the sys admin goes bye-bye. By the way a lot of our sensitive data is on other people's servers (bank, credit card, insurance). If someone installs Google Desktop Search there and some uberuser turns on this feature. After that firing an incompetent SysAdmin won't help, i won't get that data back.

When my generation was growing up, our parents did whatever the hell they felt like doing and the kids came along for the ride.

Do you mean to say that is a good thing.

    Back to topic:
I think a computer is a great tool to give your children. But that really helps if there is an elder sibling or parent who is ready to sit down and work(or play games esp educational ones) in front of the child. When I was young my Dad used to sit down and show us how to play Shanghai (Mahjong), it really got us kids interested in computers. Of course we would always try to sneak in a game of Prince of Persia.
In other tools you should really check out the latest addons/software for arts, like music and drawing etc. (cause your kids may not be interested in becoming /.er's) And while I am on /. I'll say why not introduce an abacus and a slide rule.
