    It is you. Market cap does not mean much. For example, Nortel's market cap in 2002 was just 1.3% of their market cap in 2000.

    They sort of already do, it is called air bubble system. Conventional icebreakers also use it.

    I personally know a few people living in Kiev. They hardly get buy, living on $200 per month. Sure, there are a lot of shops selling fancy stuff, but these catering to the rich people since middle class is almost not existant in Ukraine. And if you didn't notice anyone starving on the street, then you have only visited the tourist places, not the back street alleys.

    As a former Soviet citizen I can attest that for great many people lives indeed were better back then than they are now. Even with the food and fuel queues. What good is all the abundance if you cannot afford anything? USSR, for some time, was certainly not the worst place to live.

    This is not quite right, I guess Putin doesn't care about these. You see, they weren't teenage girls and they have "protested" (personally, I believe them to be simply a bunch of attention whores) numerous times before, their leader even in a group sex session while being pregnant. Nobody cared until they tried to "perform" in the church and the church is a powerful institution in Capitalist Russia.

    Either you have no sense of scale or you have totally bought the cold war propaganda.
    The total Soviet population was around 125 millions at that time. 20 millions died in the WW2, 25 millions were starved by Stalin, another 40 were shot by him. Who was actually left?

    You are using the wrong adverb. Not "still", but "again". Soviet people weren't rich, but by the time the space program was working, this kind of poverty did not exist anymore.

    Yep, very much so. It was somewhat user-unfriendly, but there were many useful applications for Windows Mobile even years ago. That was the reason why I used to own a lot of WM devices.

    Let's see what the CEO of Microsoft said about Windows Mobile...

    Ballmer says a lot of crap every day.

    If Windows Mobile was actually a useful tool, then why did it fail.

    If you want to ask a question, why don't you use a question mark?

    BTW, before you claim that I never used a WinMo/WinCE device. I actually programmed them for three years...

    That doesn't mean anything. I develop embedded Linux software for a living but I don't use Linux personally.

    Moving the goalposts is not a nice method of discussion, but if you want do do it this way, here you are:
    iPhone didn't have:

    Installable applications
    Multitasking
    Copy&Paste
    Removable storage

    Besides, years before both LG prada and iPhone there were many PDA phones, for example HTC Himalaya or Mio A701. They had a touchscreen, they had multitasking, installable applications, copy&paste and many more. In fact I've been using many of them since 2004. The difference was that they weren't a fashion accessory, but tools.
