    Flying is only faster if you neglect the hassle at the airport. I live in Germany and prefer the train for anything below 1000 km.

    Possible, sure, but even here it takes years and a lot of NIMBYism, not just from people but also from municipalities.
    This one for example took 169 lawsuits.

    Maybe because people don't eat anywhere near as much celery as they eat meat and because celery is eaten either raw or boiled, not fried.

    MAO inhibitors aren't addictive. I used to take one, then quit cold turkey because of the headaches it gave me after a while. Was nice whilte it lasted, though.

    The withdrawal thing is also very variable. Never was that bad for me, to be honest. The worst was sertraline, a week of bad mood and occasional headaches. Other than that quitting an antidepressant cold turkey seems not to do much to me except for slowing me down and giving me back the depression.

    This is why they are not recommended for people under 25. Says so right there in the patient information leaflet.

  21. Hate to rain on your parade, but that were Americans for certain. They have told me something along the lines of "you are probably thinking of the old imported Mercedes diesels".
    There have been a lot of American fanboys of German diesel cars about five years ago.

  22. Absolutely. It was a huge topic in the recent state elections in Germany because several cities have imposed a ban on diesel cars on certain roads and the federal government is not at all happy about it.

  23. The way I remember it it was exactly the other way round, back when it was diesel vs hybrid here on Slashdot.
    I - an Euro cyclist - wrote that diesels were never clean and that they still stink, obviously from my personal experience standing behind diesel cars at a red light, but the American slashdotters insisted that the modern German diesel exhaust is cleaner than the intake air.
