    The idea of a program that analyzes buys and sells is part of any brokerages program. i.e limit buy/sell orders but the problem is who creates the parameters of when to buy/sell ends in the same result as what we have now, though the machine may be better at following the established rule. but then again i think that is what the problem with the W.O.P.R was

    How does your argument differ from the profession of a lock smith? They know how to get in your house, and you can pay them to get you into your house. Now is it ethical to withhold information that could be used to hurt others, I would say that I personally think no But if they have discovered something that is beneficial to someone compensation does not seem unfair if reasonable.

    As a user who uses a laptop and someone who has some understanding of it( i am posting this on /.). I think the it manager who decides the people that can choose to replace them don't get the tools they want/need will very quickly be replaced with one who will and should.

    if i were picking up a very elderly person or a small child that makes sense,however many adults pick people up in the car yes you can check online but if the plane sits a half an hour on the tarmac to get a gate that is not helpful.

    because some of us have friends/girlfriends/family that pick us up at the airport. BUT that is on the ground i will play the part of the other end of the conversation to anyone within earshot until they give up if this ever becomes a reality, i however doubt that the airlines will ever allow it for free.

    Exactly developers are prbly users that can run a machine that has very user configurable security parameters. Most pc users use email/web. The more advanced users us email/web/games so have a secure environment for email/web and an os that sandboxes the other apps on top of that so for the non developers have a configuration that is safe and hard for the user to circumvent then also have a developer edition.

    on a dell precision m20 laptop Windows after replacing the hard drive i had to download all the drivers even my on board networking would not work(cabled) not wireless. video cd/dvd drive drivers and countless others Ubuntu straight off the cd loaded easily networking/wireless/video card/cd burning modem etc worked right after the install.

    The point about audio is very important the digital picture quality does vary mine is somewhat close for sd programming but the audio quality that goes to a receiver from the digital channels vs the analog channels is night and day in my market some networks are digital some are analog and the difference is very noticeable. I assumed using optical or coax from my cable box to my receiver all the content would be at least digital stereo not only available through the rca jacks in an analog format.

    this is from an it standpoint, be a small business owner who needs a legit copy of auto cad , ms office, and photoshop software costs are the bulk of startup costs yes i know this is why they get there copy's illegally and yes if they choose open source they will have a hard time delivering to clients ( YES THEY WILL )
