Absolutely. I have no problem preordering (a week or three in advance, not 6 months) if I enjoy the game. I purchased far more games back in the mid to late 90s when they still published demo discs with magazines. I'm not trying to screw developers and I expect the same.
I can go to the book store and read an entire novel, yet; I purchase over $50 per month. Why? Because I enjoy the freedom of taking it with me. I could read the entire novel for free and the book store wouldn't bat an eye. However, purchasing the product provides value for me.

Sorry, you just lost a customer. I'm tired of getting burned on crap games, so I don't buy games without trying them out. Either put out a demo prior to release or I'll download it. Chances are, the bigger the pain in the ass to try the game out, the less likely I am to make a purchase. Borders doesn't try to prevent me from reading the first few pages of a book.
I realize that you're being pedantic, but biking is not feasible for the majority of the population. Personally, I can't bike 30+ miles each way in a foot of snow. As for moving closer, I'll get right on that as soon as the market picks up and they double my salary.
I see you've been watching the Simpsons again. I deleted the Simpsons entry from my DVR a couple of months ago because I simply couldn't take it any more.
It would be more than enough to get most people to and from work. I would have to work the numbers, but I could live with buying a second car if it more than tripled my MPG.
That's fairly redundant. Fox's MO has always been:
1. Get a great show. 2. Put it on long enough to generate a loyal following. 3. Kill it for no apparent reason. 4. ??? 5. Profit from stupid reality shows. (Guess I found the ???)
I stopped playing Metroid Prime 3 when Mario Galaxy came out. I stopped playing MG when Zack & Wiki came out. I'll probably pick up SSBB eventually, but Zack & Wiki is simply too good to put down.
The funny thing is that I loved SC to death and played online for more hours than I care to remember. Having said that, I have no plans to pick up SC2. The demands of my family, job, house, etc have become too great for kind of commitment that a RTS requires. I put quite a bit more time into my DS now since I'm able to drop it at a moments notice.
It's a big deal when your laptop only has 512Mb.
Outlook 131Mb
Firefox 110Mb
svchost 117Mb
McAffee 64Mb
422 just in main applications. Memory usage is a BIG deal.
I enjoy the commercials for products that aren't available in my area. *cough* Verizon
They don't use ink to finger print you any more. In that sense, they are making a digital copy of your finger prints.
I was told to set up a finger print scanner on our parts room. Figure printers plus grease (industrial setting) = no access.
We have a Republican, but no conservatives.
I made a functional crossbow when I was 12. The imagination is what turns a toy into a weapon. Ritalin for everyone!
public vs private sector. Sounds pretty accurate.
1. Every single review of the Wii knocked it for not playing DVDs.
2. Who doesn't have a DVD? They're $30 now.
I have Dish Network with a HD receiver/DVR. I'm able to 'buy' a HD PPV movie and record using my DVR. $4.
My Pioneer Elite does a great job of up converting standard def. Did you perhaps buy a cheaper display?

I wish I had mod points because this is probably one of the best comments of the day. Cheers!

I pirated both games and only purchased one. The fact is, I felt Stardock deserved my money since it was a quality product.
I personally will not buy any PC game that I haven't played. So, the publisher has two options.
1. Release a demo.
2. I pirate it.
I normally purchase any game that I play for more than the first hour. Take it for what it's worth.
Heh, I lost the manual for one of the Police Quest games back on the Apple 2GS. Sucked since I couldn't play the game any more.
If it were really a potential problem, we wouldn't have exit polling.

Would you know if they had?
