  1. Re:hmmm on AMD Tops Intel in U.S. Retail Sales · · Score: -1
I have been running AMDs since 1999 starting with a 1Ghz thunderbird. That thing still runs and its my toy Linux box. My other computer is an AMD 64 based system. Again, very very stable and runs a lot cooler than P4's do. I do own a laptop with a Pentium 4 because it is really hard to find a 17" notebook with Windows Media Center Edition and an AMD processor. And I do believe that the reason AMD has been put into "cheap ass machines" is because of Intel's illegal tactics. If the manufacturer puts them into less than worth while machines, then who cares.

I used to work at CompUSA and every customer I sold a computer to asked if it had a Pentium in it. I talked for just a few minutes on why AMD is better than Intel and why they cost less and why they run faster and it was an easy sale. No, I did not lie, I did not make Intels sound like trash. Intel has done such a good job of brainwashing through commercials and other advertising, people think its the only thing out there. When was the last time you saw an AMD commercial...when was the last time you saw an Intel commercial?

As a newly born fan to pay to play games, I would like to commend NCSoft on giving their fans something instead of filling their pocket book even more. If World of Warcraft was split and you had to pay to play Alliance and pay to play Horde at the same time, the population of Azeroth would suffer great losses.

  9. Re:Load times? on Review: Burnout - Revenge · · Score: 0

If you are playing on the XBOX, you can reduce the load times by first buying a modchip (about $35 - $60), and then put the game on the Hard Drive (check out www.xbox-scene.com and www.teamexecuter.com for info). I do this with whichever game I am playing a lot of. It reduces the load dramatically and you don't have to worry about swapping the game discs. If you are using the factory hard drive, expect about 2 games on it. Or you can put in your own larger hard drive. And yes, I own the games that are on my XBOX.

Ok, it happened again. I always do this. I say something without fully stating my thoughts. I agree with both of you. There is nothing wrong with manking finding out how the world/universe works. But its when people say that there is no way to explain how or why it happens. As if it doesn't fall into what science says, then its wrong. But we also must thing that there are also things that mankind isn't supposed to know and why that is, we don't know. I just wish that something like evolution, which I don't believe in, wouldn't be taught in school as fact, but as theory, which it is. And since America is full of all kinds of people, its hard to teach Creation in schools, but don't dismiss it and just put evolution or something else in there as 'the way it is'.

  13. Argghh on Mysterious Stars Surround Andromeda's Black Hole · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Why can't people just say it. Things like this are the way they are because God wanted it that way. "The formation of these stars goes against everything we know (should be speculate)." 12 billion years...sure, why not. Thats the only way they can explain their theories because there is no proof from 12 billion years ago. You think that if God can create life, he can make something old too?
