The Total Access plan you mention includes returning unlimited online rented movies for store rented movies. Netflix has nothing of the sort so callng it a competitor is flat out wrong. A quick look on the blockbuster website shows the 3 out at a time plan is 19.99 and that includes 5 store rentals a month.
I am going to purchase a Sharp HDTV later today and will be getting a free Sharp Blu Ray player with my purchase.
Toshiba can cut prices all they want, you can't beat free.
i would have purchased an unlocked from Apple iPhone. As it is I now have an iPod Touch to go with my Razor phone. I get most of the good iPhone stuff without having to leave my network of choice, T-Mobile.
Somewhere down the line, I see a per-play fee replacing the per-track fee. Pretty soon we'll be tracked and billed at the end of the month for our music usage. Not to be paranoid about it, of course, but every time I think I've seen the most ridiculous behavior by the recording industry they do something a little more invasive and restrictive.
This wouldn't affect me much. I already own all the good old music I want. And new music mostly sucks and I most likely wouldn't be buying or renting much of it anyway. Bring it on and watch the music industry die even quicker.
It is actually illegal for an American to buy any Cuban product anywhere. We have an embrago against them however, and no such embargo exists against Antigua, yet.
Yes, but most games don't actually run well under virtualization. Or Wine for that matter.
There are however some AWESOME Linux native games:
Zsnes (every super nintendo game)
Mupen (every Nintendo 64 game)
Urban Terror (Linux Native!)
Other than those all I really miss is Grand theft Auto, which doesn't run well in virtualization anyway, and Civilization 2, which also doesn't run great virtualized, and further, is pretty damned old these days, though still more playable than civ 3 or 4.
Wow I haven't heard anyone speak of Urban Terror in years. I loved that game. Was in a clan and everything.
Oh just to be on topic, M$ suxors.
American, well New York at least, pizza is the best. There are also some damn fine tasty microbreweries in America as well. Try getting out more and drinking less Bud Light.
I wonder what happens when and if Verizon goes after the cable companies. Here in NYC Time Warner and Cablevision push their "Triple Play" packages a great deal. That is TV, Internet, and VOIP phone service for those who haven't seen this. With Verizon rolling out FIOS, I imagine the cable companies can not be happy about the phone company invading their tv domain, just as the tv company invaded Verizon's phone domain. Will these companies throw down and fight it out in court or will Verizon make nice and license the technology for a song and let the big media comglomerates continue as before.
If Verizon gives cheap licensing to others is Vonage not entitled to the same deal? Lots of questions still to be answered I believe.
Basically Science Fiction is a speculation on what life will be like in the future, I don't know how you could say Star Wars wasn't science fiction. You've got advanced civilizations with huge futuristic cities and clone warriors and a bunch of other stuff. As for Serenity/Firefly being sci-fi, check http://www.fireflywiki.org/Firefly/CategoryTechnol ogy for information about their Technology.
Well it was "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away." Seems more like the past to me. Not that I disagree with Star Wars being Science Fiction, just your definition.
I live in NYC and when I order from Newegg 98.7% of my orders arrive the next day from their NJ warehouse and I only ever pick the cheapest shipping. Once I had a part come all the way from California. I will take the great customer service and cheaper prices over instant gratification almost any day of the week.
Doesn't this just mean that if you can't get an Adobe product to work on Vista you need to go to Adobe as you would under any other OS? Why should MS need to help you make an Adobe product work on their OS, Adobe should be the ones making it work. I use Adobe as my example so the Open Source fans don't get in an uproar about MS keeping the competition down (not that they aren't, but I don't feel they are here).
Downloading isn't illegal in the US either, the RIAA doesn't sue downloaders they sue uploaders who are distributing the files. The RIAA actually seems to go out of their way to avoid downloaders altogether because they want the public to believe downloading is illegal and evil and a sin.
And "Dr. Who's" name is The Doctor.
The Disney Channel is one long continuous ad for Disney.
If only there were such a device, they could call it Apple TV. http://www.apple.com/appletv/

In NYC the resistance is the labor unions. This is a union town.
I have to say Guitar Hero II on my Xbox 360 pumping out through the stereo system. A good game to play with friends who are drinking.
Here in NY I have 20/5 Fios service for $50 a month. Welcome to the USA. :)

This just in: Sony now says playing a Bluray disc you just purchased is pirating. More to come.
Apple has shown that people will pay more for the black version of something.

A fart is a good enough excuse for big oil to justify an increase in gasoline prices.

CSI? Nah, I think a "Law and Order: IP" would be in order. I can totally see Ice-T chasing down some geeky college kid who played around with Linux.

And here I was waiting for the first shot to be fired across someone's bow.
