    You're taking less than a whole times less than a whole times less than a whole. .993^3 = .979146657
    Perhaps what formula you meant was (1 - ((1 - .993)^3) = 0.999999657

    The settlement ends the matter in an amicable way.

    The article fails to really specify end results, but it sounds like some kind of job deal was worked out where the kids will help improve security.

    Just to give everyone some perspective on how long 150 years actually is, the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. 232 years ago. Think about how people would have felt had the Declaration been under copyright, with no reproduction allowed until 1925, well after WW1.     Careful there. My guess is that you are basing this "fact" solely on grades. Grades are indicators of two things: intelligence and drive. You can be very, very smart and do very, very poorly because you don't apply it. You can also be very dumb and apply yourself and still do poorly. Smartest people may not always make the best grades... Einstein anyone?

    Considering the actual gov page refers specifically to cell-phone batteries and laptop batteries, Gov page:

    Under the new rules, you can bring batteries with up to 8-gram equivalent lithium content. All lithium ion batteries in cell phones are below 8 gram equivalent lithium content. Nearly all laptop computers also are below this quantity threshold.
    My guess is you misinterpreted the quote from AP:

    The ban affects shipments of non-rechargeable lithium batteries, such as those made by Energizer Holdings Inc. and Procter & Gamble Co.'s Duracell brand
    as saying, "The ban affects ONLY shipments of non-rechargeable lithium battters", which is incorrect.

    Actually, the simple fact that you pointed out the Wii implies that this marketing tactic has worked. What a cheap way to generate interest than having geeks across the world fighting how to pronounce it if they read it, how to spell it if they hear it, and how dumb of a name it is in general. You may think it is dumb, but I guarantee that was a great choice of a name for the console.

    It might come in handy, but this claim is completely out there. It sounds like someone is tooting their own horn a little too loudly. That's like saying, my new search engine ${name here} will have great impact on how we do searching today.

    Just because they are not using it to go after anyone yet, does not mean that they won't in the future. In the end, their legal department funds, matched with this patent, can shut down any small company competitor with a threat of a patent suit. /.ites are pissed because we recognize this as a threat to innovation by the little guys.
