    indeed, he shouldn't. He should just get rid of his computer and go wacht tv ( or get a Mac, if he believes that will take him to utopia ).
    That brainless ranting just shows his frustration.. of being a completely incapable to deal with computers.
    I've had my share of problems with playing video on my linux box.. but nowadays mplayer does a better job than M$ mediaplayer here.

    First to say that this option does look kinda nice..
    But from a usability perspective it is just not
    very usefull because it doesn't help you be more
    productive. Besides usually it just makes most
    documents unreadable. Give me the alt-leftmousebutton-drag-window-around option instead. That just helps not having to select the
    window dragbar... which makes life a lot easier..

    Most ASP's services provide a way to secure,
    manage or optimize an OS or some piece
    of software. Let them prove otherwise in

    strictly functional.
    You don't buy a ferrari for it's functionality,
    though it's still a vehicle for getting from
    A to B... ( in style? or whatever might apply here)
    'good design' two words that just do not match..

    some research a while ago about the costs of privacy?
    Wasn't the outcome there "privacy is just too expensive, give it up"?
    The steps M$ is taking do add up to the direction,
    they're moving in, doesn't it?

    Maybe they don't care about us just wanting usefullness or content. The majority of visitors love those fancy/flashy intros anims etc.
    So why should they care as long as they're selling?

    Though some might not know otherwise.. :)

    uhmm... here in The Netherlands we have a progressive taxation, which kinda makes me wonder why I should try and work any harder. Because of every dollar (dfl.) I'd make extra they take more. So it really makes a dent in productivity.

    I have been Working with a mouse and the keyboard
    for over 12 years now, and I've never had any
    problems. There are a lot of companies out their
    who would love to see you buy all the ergonomic
    gadgets they can come up with.

    But I really think you just shouldn't sit in the
    same position for too long. Don't get me wrong
    I think it's a good thing that we're thinking
    about the problems and are taking actions.
    But how far will this thing go? Are we going to
    sit in a special seat where you can't even move
    freely about? I really don't think that these
    gadgets will bring the solution.

    personally I train my arms and fingers with the
    simplest of things I have lying around on my desk.
    Like pencils or little balls etc.

    as I've said 12 years and not one day of pain,
    I'm not going to spend my money on those things.
    They will not help me, if you think they will
    be of any help to you I think you should get them.

    cd's have a far greater production cost, so the price would be a lot higher for a cd. I think that's exactly why they chose this option.
    Take out the distributor et voila. Now where is all this extra money coming from... ?!? :)

    Distributing has become the reason for us paying too much for our music. This is just some new way of distributing... wonder how long it will take for the big companies to come in and claim it for themselves?! Or these new companies to become big and do the same thing... ?! :)

    That's why I'm trying to get OSS like The GIMP into the art school I'm studying Interaction Design at!

    But it's not easy getting designers to switch platform. So tips and suggestions are welcome!
