I read this article yesterday. The student got arrested for not stopping an action after class was stopped and the supervisors where putting school on hold waiting for her to stop doing an action. I don't like police states myself, but I like lame-ass attention-whores trying to pump up their ad revenues just as little.
Being arrested for not obeying an authority is not the same thing as being arrested for texting. mmkay?
No, not clear. While you may or may not be making a valid point, giving absolute values of income does nothing to tell you the standard of living, which is what would really determine if someone was "rich" or not. Where I live in the US, the average price of a home has probably dropped back down to about a million dollars. You can't rent a room for less than 1,000/month. While there may be a difference in the average standard of living, I don't think it is in proportion to the dollar values you cite. So, no, it is not clear at all.
Bullshit. This hasn't happened since JFK printed United States Notes. The Federal Reserve Notes are printed by a PRIVATE bank. The shareholders of the bank are private individuals and not the government.
"Let's agree: "Linux" as implemented by the many distros right now is ugly out of the box! Compare that with Apple's OSX or even Windows XP out of the box. With Linux, you first have to look for those Microsoft web fonts before you call a potential convert to have a look! Sad indeed."
When I go to use one of the newer Start buttons in windows that is all "mapped out" instead of a nice, simple, list, I don't know where anything is. Very frustrating. And what about Macs? Because stuff gets BIGGER when I mouse over it, that makes it easier to understand!? I hate the way KDE looks, but I don't pretend that Gnome is any better. It is my opinion.
Your whole argument starts off like a statement of fact when it is really only an opinion.
"However why take this risk when both the pilots and air controller have full command of the same language which is not english ? This would be true here particularly in the case of a regional flight. Why take an additional risk ?"
So that the pilots from India, Russia, Czech Republic, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, etc. know what the hell is going on at the airport. Wasn't that clear enough from the example given?
Wow! Somehow having 38 years of bad information somehow makes it.... I don't know WTF, *better* information??? My 44 years says you're still a clueless moron.
"OT:I met a guy over on a bus stop once. He was pissed white dude over his divorce."
I met a guy at a train station once. He seemed upset that I didn't know Jesus well enough. While he was preaching to me, he kept ripping farts, so I couldn't stop cracking up on the inside long enough to ease his anger.
Buses and trains make people angry, so that is why they refer to it as the information super-highway. QED
That's only true in *most* cases. The *loan* that the PRIVATE federal reserve bank gives to other banks comes from thin air. They do not have anything to back it up. Not even close since 1971. That is a fact and not a theory.
If you, kinda like, wouldn't mind, just putting a *little* more work into the product I purchased, I would ever so much appreciate it --not that I'm not grateful for the opportunity to use it, I mean, just if you don't mind a little work on the whole "make it work" thing. Thanks ever so much good sir!
Pretty easy to say, not so easy to get acknowledged in court. There has been a "commuter tax" on people who work on NYC for years and nobody has been successful in getting it revoked.
In Connecticut, this is a moot point. According to the tax law, there is a "use tax" for stuff bought out of state but used in house (i.e., where you are represented). If you've already paid a tax in another state, you can subtract it. It was meant for people who bought cars and other big ticket items in states with lower sales tax.
when I drop by Slashdot is, if I'm lucky, people will have a good argument *about* arguing. What the hell was this post about anyway? I can't remember.
It says, "Post Comment", not "Bicker Indefinitely".
Fuzzy kittens and bunnies. XOXOXOXO!
Richard... WHO?
Wow. All you're english anal-agies are getting way to much for me!
"Most people can tell the difference in spin between Fox News and CNN."
Did you say "MOST" people?
BWAHHAHAHAHA.
Do most people know that the places these news organizations, namely Reuters and AP, get most of there news, are majority-owned by the same interest?

As long as there is data that is related, I predict a form of relational database.
Genius! I know, pure genius.

Clear enough?"

A fact is a fact, regardless of whether or not it is true...
Whoa, Sgt. Pepper, time to back off on the LSD or get a job in a large beauracracy. You are making my head aspode!

If it's backed, however tepidly, by an army of Microsoft lawyers, does it still count as hot air?

A: To get the taste of the lawyer out of his mouth.
[*rimshot*] You're beautiful people. I'll be here all week folks, don't forget to tip your waitress...
