I don't mind multiplayer. In fact, I encourage it... but I don't do PVP. Most people equate multiplayer to competitive and that's where I think multiplayer gaming gains a big red "x" for some people. What we need to do is encourage developers to develop a storyline and allow jump-in cooperation from people you approve.
Personally I feel like MP games need to break a bit from the linearity of single player gaming (and I know people will disagree with me on this.) I'd love to be completing storyline missions in one town and let my friend go off and sell loot from our last mission or whatever they like (even if it's breaking form the party and exploring that cave over there.)
I spend most of my time investigating the cooperative aspects of games so that I can log in and play with friends and complete objectives.
I don't have nearly as much fun in games when it's just me.
Why would a company just sit in the corner quietly letting the community distrust them, leave, and never want to come back. It's poor business and it smells a bit like someone else is pulling the strings.
It's absurdly hard to actually identify items that only rarely occur, say weapons, in samples like this.
And how do they know if I have a concealed carry permit? I'm going to hate being confronted every time one of these passes to prove that I have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Games have not been so good. My parents love to play Snood and it runs like dog shit in a VirtualBox VM with Windows. I've looked for games like Snood in Linux (Frozen Bubble) but they do not have mouse support. ("Yes, but, see, it would not be fair to players using keyboard, because mouse aiming is analog-based, whereas keys are not. So, no mouse, sorry.") It's a freaking game!
Why would you put something that's a large target for viruses as a host? That doesn't make sense to me.
If you get a virus in Windows as a VM, you simply rollback to a previous state. You can't do that with a host as easily, and you lose the functionality of the PC while that's happening. If you run all your Windows machines in a VM, you can quickly switch to a backup copy without having to wait for some virus cleaner, disk defragmentation, system update that requires a reboot...
It just makes more sense to run a Linux host in most cases because of all the maintenance that happens in Windows systems.
I consider myself fairly competent when it comes to computers/Linux/Windows and I was never able to get Xen to do anything but throw errors and waste hard drive space... things may have changed in the past year and a half or so since I tried, but VirtualBox is dead simple to create and manage VMs. (It has a GUI for one.)
I created a folder on my Mother's PC in her home folder: ~/WindowsFiles/ Then I had Virtualbox mount this path as a drive in Windows and pointed "Documents and Settings" to this drive. Most games, apps, etc will put files here. The only downside of this is that the registry settings for HKCU is stored here so anything that edits that registry will not be easily reset.
Well, I own and use a PS3 controller and I, quite frankly, like it... though I wish there was a controller kind of like the 360, but with the joysticks in the right place (both on the outside with the buttons toward the center)
Being a ward of the court (from the first page of the order... I didn't read it all I admit, so if you saw it otherwise, I apologize) does not mean you are a parent-less child. It simply means that you are under guardianship by someone other than your natural parents. That could be for breaking the law or abuse so we can't know for sure if he has parents or is being held in juvenile detention. (from what I understand of "ward of the court.") Though, IANAL so I could be wrong.
The top 10% of taxpayers may have paid 55% of the taxes, but they also earned just about 50% of the income[1]. It seems only fair that they pay around 50% of the taxes.
In fact just over 50% sounds fine to me
So you are seeking a 5% reduction in taxes to the top 10%...
, since the top 10% probably have a little more to spare after food, shelter, and clothing than the bottom 90% and can better afford to help support shared infrastructure, war, et al.
You know... people grumble about it, but the flat sales tax solves all that and everyone pays proportionality the same percentage for purchased items and it gives the poor an opportunity to actually save money by cutting back on some things (like smoking) and buying generic foods where the rich would most likely seek out brand names. It offers a tremendous amount of personal control over money and I think that's why it has such a hard sell. Even if you include hoarders... their kids will likely spend that money on expensive cars, homes, etc. The money will get spent.
Eh, as much as I agree that it's "standard" operating procedure, I've been tricked by some apps that have different meanings for CTRL+D (Delete or Duplicate line) that can really screw with the user.
Besides, it's nice to tell someone new to a PC who may be flipping through a menu trying to find a way to do it.
I assume it probably has something to do with a difference of OS settings? I know private browsing turns itself off when restarting the browser - by design so maybe the Linux version is also coded to reset the offline status on reload (or not retain it on shutdown.)
an online multiplayer game is supposed to be competitive after all.
Who said all multiplayer games have to be competitive?

In Quantum computing, you can have both. (?)
But you CAN buy straight pipes and install them... just hope you don't get inspected.
They aren't putting manufacturers of exhaust pipes in jail for producing an item that allows you to break the law.
All this irks of inside deals.
Why would a company just sit in the corner quietly letting the community distrust them, leave, and never want to come back. It's poor business and it smells a bit like someone else is pulling the strings.
I was always told never to reach for the weapon. If the officer wants me to remove my weapon I was always told to let them do it.
Are we talking console(OpenGL ES)? Pretty much all of them.
Are we talking PC (OpenGL "proper")? Isn't Valve's Source Engine OpenGL capable now?

Pedant: He's not alcoholic. He was addicted to pain killers.
I'm not sure that you can change the eye color to gray though.

They are probably still a pretty hot item on ebay.
Current prices say ~$200.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

From the sound of the second part, it sound like you want to raise taxes: "[since they can afford it]"
You know... people grumble about it, but the flat sales tax solves all that and everyone pays proportionality the same percentage for purchased items and it gives the poor an opportunity to actually save money by cutting back on some things (like smoking) and buying generic foods where the rich would most likely seek out brand names. Exactly, we should just let the government decide what punishment is proper for our kids now.
Oh boy, that hurt to type.
And again, all Blizzard has to do is ban these people. There's no sense litigating some programmer writing a program that interfaces with Starcraft.
