So whats the big deal here? If you change the password etc then the problem is solved right? Ohhh thats right you're talking about people not READING the damn manual telling them what they need to do!

Well tell you what, tough. You didn't read, you didn't listen, then pay the consequences. It TELLS you that you need to change the password etc and what you should do. If you choose not to do it, then face the consequences.

See a Red Light means stop, if you choose not to obey that and get in an accident and get hurt, well sorry but you pay the consequences of your actions.

I hate being so negative sometimes but damn, there comes a time when even the Big red letters not the widespread panic across the news won't help.

Yes, I agree, the companies should make these things where you have to create a new password and username etc, but there's only so much they can do. B/c we all know that most people would leave the password field blank. I know this all to well as the CEO of my company has a blank password on his personal email addy.

Yes there are scanners out there that can work for you. I have a Canon DR-5020 which we just feed it a ton of paper and come back in a few and it's done. It can scan VERY quickly. PDF format would work just fine as well. It's the best option especially since it's hand written notes as well.

If this is a requirement which is going to be on-going then you will have to pony up the money and spend a few thousand. If you're not ready to do that, you may be in luck. Some places will lease it out to you and with that few hundred bucks I'm sure you can easily get a hold of one for about a week or 2.

Look up for people who do Document Imaging, and you should find a lot of business that come up. If you're in the washington dc area then maybe I can help you out quite a bit.

I'm working on getting my MBA and that doesn't mean that I'm going to try to walk all over the other businesses and perform illegal activities. Amazing how you and many others assume that most MBA's are idiots and just out for money and will do anything illegal to get there. Remember it's the individual who makes the dumbass decisions, not just because the have a MBA, that's just something they did to help them get to that postion. It's their idiotic views on life, ie the person, who is screwing up, not some damn piece of paper labling them as an MBA.

But the fact implicated you have to buy a firewall software, or anti virus, or purchase office apps, or image manipulation tools, web dev tools and database software shows your ignorance to the subject. Just about everything you just stated is avaible for free, and not just free as in beer, but in speach as well.

You're starting to sound like someone who's been using MS OS's to long and are blind to see the things you need are right in front of you.

Don't wanna pay for virus software? AVG works well and is free. I reccomend that to anyone who asks. Gimp runs on windows, so does a whole bunch of office applications that you'd want. Free web dev tools? Umm last I checked there were a whole bunch and last I also checked you CAN run mysql on win32.

IF the DOJ was really pissy don't you think they'd have already cracked down on the linux mod for the Xbox? Trust me, they read slashdot and know about these things. There's at least ONE geek working there and they'd be able to provide such information if it were in some sort of violation.

There's no need to sugar coat this situation, we all know why that site was there and quite frankly I'm surprised it stayed in operation as long as it did. The fact that they decided to sell the modchips put them over the edge because they just crossed the realm into interstate commerce which falls under the federal system. This allowed the DOJ, a federal agency, to be able to come down on them.
