Really? The saying in my high school was "If you don't cite sources you fail". In my experience in college writing classes if a line looked too similar to a source it was consider plagiarism if you didn't explicitly connect it to the author of the source or the work it was derived from (of course any exact quote had to be put in quotes and cited MLA style).
Okay, after reading the linked page it said the charge was overturned in appeal. Unless the high court yet again reverses the current decision I see nothing here but a bad judge, and bad judges happen (hence the appellate court system).
Apple made it clear over and over that it's UNIX-like Try again, Apple says many times that it is UNIX based, using the all caps UNIX all over the page. http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/unix/ From above link: "Beneath the surface of Mac OS X lies an industrial-strength UNIX foundation".
I know at least Shintoism, Jehovah's Witness, and Scientology are against it. Hinduism is against it (but Buddhism supports it, unfortunately many lump the two together so some people incorrectly say Hinduism supports it) There are some Orthodox Jewish groups opposed to it (and all Orthodox Jewish groups are against most donation of the body to research, delaying burial for removal of organs is regarded as alright because of the potential good vs. the relatively small time needed, but anything that delays the burial of the body very long is definitely forbidden). While most of the major christian denominations support organ donation there are many that hold disfavor of organ donations because of beliefs regarding the second coming of Christ (the same groups are also extremely opposed to cremation).
I think a bigger factor is that Christian's send many people to talk to prisoners, and forgiveness of sins helps deal with guilt or crimes committed (and the day of judgements helps with dealing with enemies, being able to think they will eventually get what they deserve). I know Nation is Islam has had many people join out of prison (their programs to help ex-convicts stay out of jail and gang deterrence programs are probably major factors in that), I don't know about Islam in general though.
I know that has happened in China with executed prisoners, but I don't think that is the case in America. There is that whole religion thing that some people start wars over, and a lot of people find religion in prison.
What I think is interesting is the quote of the day on my Google start page: "Sometimes what's right isn't as important as what's profitable."
- Trey Parker and Matt Stone Just a coincidence?
Well you don't have to upgrade, I know a ton of Mac owners running OS 10.2 and 10.3, nothing forces you to upgrade. And last I checked the upgrade was only $100, and you can jump from 10.2 to 10.4 for that $100 (less if you are a student, and also there is the family pack option).
Not quite. Apple replaced the Mini, as in no more Mini in the Apple store (except for the refurbished section). Sony will have both systems on the shelves.
Pregnant women on slashdot? Are you telling me there are women on slashdot? And are you telling me women don't have to leave their parents' basement to have sex?
Google results: ba dump chink: about 11,000 results. (Using ba-dump *chink* gets 242, putting quotes around it gets 39) badump pisssh: No results. (Also no results for ba dump pisssh.)
I'm sorry, I think you lost this round. Better luck next time.
Wouldn't that kill the rental market? Aren't Family Video, Netflix, and Blockbuster fairly big companies? I think there would be mutiny if that happened, with one of the biggest buyers refusing to buy in (remember they like to make money on used discs too, so wouldn't like that "special discs for rental services" thing).
...where is the foot:It's funny... laugh" icon on the top. This is like a Hunter S. Thompson report, but without the good writing of Thompson. I mean this thing is just about a guy who doesn't know the language walking around drinking and doing drugs in Taiwan. Where is anything about the games at the show at all? Why was he disappointed about Nintendo when he didn't seem to give a shit about anything happening at the show?
Now the reason this happened wasn't because a jolly Church leader came alone and said "Hey guys... I think all this killing may not be in the lines of Jesus Christ's teachings. Maybe we should be nice guys and treat other cultures with respect."
While I agree with that a bit, I do tend to think that Tyndale, Gutenberg, and Luther had a whole lot to do with it. One of the key problems was before Tyndale's translation, Gutenberg's printing press, and Luther's revolution the gospel was not available to the people. To have an English (or any other language besides Latin, Greek, or Hebrew) translation was forbidden and in many cases punished by death. When the Bible was made available to the masses the masses were able to hold the Church accountable to the Bible, which lead to a lot of reform.
There is a reason it is called the Old Testament by Christians. It is the old deal. We have the new one now. I think most Christian church's would say if we didn't have the New Testament we should follow the Old Testament to the letter. But Christianity teaches freedom from the old law (hence no more stoning sinners at the village gate).
I think Emmanuel Goldstein (from 1984) covers both the theory and is the subject of threat (uniting people during two minutes hate) so makes a great example.

Can you provide a link to that?
You don't get karma for funny posts... if this is to be labeled any such behavior I think it is attention whore.

I need a new keyboard now. This old one doesn't work so well now that it's full of coffee..
I need a new coffee now, the old one is real hard to drink out of a keyboard.

Best post on this thread. If I had mod points you would have them all.
hatred of all things French
There is a big difference between hating and not respecting. We don't hate the French, we just have a complete lack of respect for them.
Just to be clear since mods have been a little harsh on me recently: it is a joke, laugh.

Trapshooting has always been dope! What is your problem with skeet? Would you rather me practice and compete with real birds?

What's the big deal that an iPod can do it?
I've heard that an iPod gives you a bigger ePenis (kind of like neon case-lights, case windows, and UV reactive cables).
