Why not skip YASTS (Yet another star trek series) and bring back Firefly?

Is it a little surprising none of the recent young-enough-to-love-it billionaires hasn't funded it as a vanity project? It may cost $1.5M per episode, but it would make back a chunk of that in its initial release, plus international distribution, and streaming revenues for decades.

But that doesn't change the negative effect on project contributors caused by treating them like human garbage. Some may disagree, and perhaps they suffer from a similar rage-based egocentric personality disorder. Life's too short to work with them on purpose.

There are other ways to lead, and better ways to promote excellence in a group. "Asshole-centric Leadership-by-Insult" is a non-starter, possibly a non-sequitur, for many.

Nevertheless, I think you've honestly missed the point of TFA, or at least the fine summary.
The fact that tech outruns the bureaucracy is, on average, a very good thing. Especially true in parts of the world where rulers are desperate for tight control of every individual's access to information, free market innovations, and the basic human right to live their lives unfettered (unless they interfere with others' similar rights.)
