    politicians DO care about votes, and business DOES care about money.

    It was an 'okay' book series, not one i'd probably read twice though.

    I can think of *so* many ways to leverage this kind of thinking:

    i) shoes that detect when they're being put on, automatically debiting your chequing acct. for each use, and for each step taken in them.

    ii) Shirts that detect when they're being buttoned up. Ditto for zippers. Add modifiers for when used long sleeved, or rolled up.

    iii) sunglasses that charge per solar day.

    iv) clothing that detects seasons and charges by the year.

    v) & etc.

    I'm glad I'm not going to live long enough to see that world. The rest of you are welcome to it.

    Charge even more for shirts coming off... ditto for bras, ditto for underpants. Microsoft could kill sex with one patent! (Guess that's because they are micro and soft?) :-)

    Yes, this is the new slashdot... taken over by a bunch of assholes who mod down everybody who posts non-AC. Really turning to trash when 90% of the posts are AC.
    Really sad... that's why i'm on here less and less. Seems like people in charge need to get rid of the AC ability.
    And yes, now a bunch of silly little eight year olds will AC some dick-licker comments and mod me down further but that's okay: at least some people are mature enough to comment without coming out like their idiots.

    I'll take that bet and say that in 3-5 years you'll be wishing that Canonical was selling shares.
    Canonical has made some mistakes yes, but which company hasn't (see Msft, apple, google, RIM!!!): I wish i owned some shares... then maybe i'd be able to afford to buy the smartphone/laptop/tablet and smart tv that ubuntu will be linking.
    Oh, being poor sucks. :-(
