Wasn't the alternative internet popular in the 90s? It was called AOL. It went away for a reason.
Like I used to tell friends years ago, the internet is the wild west of the computer world- you're responsible for your own safety, no one else. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
The news isn't that they're doing these riffs, the news is that the are now doing them live via streaming at the site, and then a short live question and answer afterwards. They did one already, and it went well. They released the studio version of the riff, but I haven't seen it to see how different it was from the live version.
Really? I missed that memo. In fact, in the 20 years I've been working as a graphic designer, I haven't used a tablet and pen once. None of the newspapers I work for had them available. So, it's not really an instance of my being a "cheap-ass" or "wasting a LOT of... clients time" or for that matter limiting myself "hard."
But then, I'm working in an industry that's supposed to be dead as well; it's obvious that I have no idea what I'm talking about, especially since my newspaper just had a record year.
It's hard to picture touch computing replacing the mouse graphic design. I prefer to work without fingerprints all over my screen.
Playing a FPS shooter would... interesting... as well.
I just got Universe at War, and Games for Windows Live is really pissing me off. I only want to play a LAN game with my roommate, and we can't without having GFWL accounts. Every time I log into GFWL, it says I need to patch. So I hit okay, and it tries to download, and fails. I downloaded the patches separately, applied them, launch the game, log into GFWL- and it says I need to patch. So I hit okay, and it tries to download, and fails...
I just want to play multi-player on our network.
"For comparison, here's what we get from Insight (our local cableco monopoly)
Standard cable (70 ch + local broadcast in HD) + some free VOD + DVR
Landline, unlimited across the USA
10/1 internet
Total bill is ~110$ a month (DVR is rented). VOD movies are 6$, 14$ in HD"
Sigh. I don't get nearly that much in services in the same package, and pay $145 a month. But I'm in the middle of nowhere too.
In the article, SCO is not mentioned, and neither is Ralph Yarro. The person who was speaking was Ralph Yarrow, of the anti-porn CP80 Foundation.
Not to lesson the stupidity of the man, but where is the SCO connection?
In 2003, Dr. Randell L. Mills was nominated for the James Randi Educational Foundation's Pigasus awards for other claims:

My mother has a brain tumor. She has four months to live. Please hurry.

"replacing the mouse IN graphic design," is what I meant to type.

I have enough to do with my time without snooping on what the users are doing with theirs. As long as it doesn't affect the systems, I don't care.
The Futurama review was so poorly written that I gave up after reading the first paragraph. Anyone can write; few can write well.
Since I don't have a cell phone, I don't have anything to worry about. It helps that there is not a mall within 100 miles, either.

I was reading this aticle: http://www.heraldextra.com/content/view/218318/4/ The other article I looked at spelled his name "Yarro", so I'm guessing it was an error in the article I read.
