    Why not tape it?
If it was on my cabel provider (TCI^h^h^hAT&T Cable in PDX) then I would tape it and then edit out the commercials and archive it :)

Although it would be nice if they had Muppet Show DVDs.

Well, I can't get a cable modem because I live in Portland :-)But I do have DSL and it is really nice.

Durring the early holidays I visited family who had rr, and was it ever slow. Even a telnet session would lag and lag and lag. Does anyone know if cable modems are only good for bigger downloads and thus I would be better off with a 56k modem if I had a choice of ISP with a cable modem? (Half of what I do on the net is telnet sessions.)

This reminds me of an incident one night I was walking home at night. I was walking down one street and just as I passed one corner I just decided that I would rather walk up a different street a couple blocks up. Not a big deal, just a second thought.

Anyway, when I turned around to walk up the street I just passed, 2 cop cars and like 8 cops surrounded me. They thought it suspicious that I "turned around suddenly after seeing a cop car" on the street I was walking down. I didn't see said car and told them so. After checking my ID and waiting 10 minutes for a background check they let me go. Let that be a lesson to me not to change my path walking home at night.

This might be more low short term memory that ADD but I can't tell you home many times I've left my apartment and as soon as I hit the street I can't remeber if I locked my door or not. Of course I'm also obsessive/compulsive so I gotta go back and check. Nearly always my door is locked but I just can't remember doing it. The only way for me to remeber is to concentrait on the fact that I've locked my door.

(can we get any more off topic than this? :)

  9. Joe User vs. Soft Money on Campaign Finance Meets the Web · · Score: 1

    This is ridiculous.
Big corporations get away with giving I don't know how much money (practically bought the last Prez Election) in "Soft Money" and legally doesn't have to report it as a campaign contribution. But Joe User puts up a political web site as a hobby, and gets assessed for their whole computer?????

The lesson here boys and girls is that if you are a big corporation with billions of dollars you don't have to play by the rules, donate millions to both the Republican and the Democrat canidates and you got yourself the best government money can buy!
