I'm sure there are plenty of areas in India where they have 6 lanes of "rickshaws [and] bicycles" but have you seen this video?

Not that I disagree with your idea, though. I live about 1 mile away from my work place, and once it gets warm enough I'll start walking to work.

I too used an HP48GX in high school and college, but I don't think HP sells them any more. A quick check on amazon and google shows used ones $250 and up (one listed for $500 on Amazon). The much maligned (IIRC) 49G+ is listed for about $110, again, used. You're absolutely right that no one can borrow it. The easiest way to teach people was basically tell them to press the single quote ('), type in the equation, and press "eval". /me goes on the DMV website to see if RPN4EVA is taken ;)

While that may be true, if that tidbit of information wasn't there, I would be wondering if they were related, and he saved me a wikipedia search (they're cousins). Come to think of it, I just searched it anyway... damn it.

I can't flippin' believe it--Firefox 2.0 did not show "pr0n" as being a misspelling, even though it did show "Firefox" as an error. Unbelievable!
are you sure it's not because pr0n has "0", and numbers are automatically skipped? pr00n and prn0 are also not underlined.

Ok, I was being a smart-ass with the initial response, but I'm confused --
    • If you ask something like "Sqrt(1048576)" most (all I hope) calculators will give you 1024, no approximation errors will/should be introduced anywhere.
    • If you ask something like "Sqrt(2)" you would most likely have to settle for approximations, by hand or computer. (I think this was mentioned by 3-4 posters already, but just mentioning it anyway)
    • I suppose there are cases with a definite answer, where computers will generate approximation errors, but my guess is that these would take too long for most (yes that includes non-Americans) people, and they'll just go to another site that offers your exact same service.
Basically what I'm saying is, give me an example of such a problem.
