I'll be honest. I see issues with it too. Things could go quite poorly if for example he stopped the wrong people (if it happened at night, such could happen.)
Me being a cynical and selfish bastard, I'll defend myself, my loved ones, my friends, neighbors, and a few casual acquaintances.
Also, you if you think the police have to show up just because you dial 911, well...
Ordinary citizens have "no constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen." - Bowers v. DeVito, 686F. 2nd 616, 618 (7th Cir. 1982). (This is one of the (several) reasons I am a cynical and selfish bastard BTW)
Actually, in that situation, I'm dialing 911 to get to the PSAP, not the police. The police just show up later. I still don't need them. Same with my neighbor. 911 is not the police.
I'm going to apply "security through obscurity" to that topic. Why make things easier for the slashdot stalker who would kill the guards from a distance with a rifle, leave their bodies in my living room with blood written on the walls saying "Are you sure you don't need police?"
Oh, also my neighbors just might decide to shoot any burglers out of common courtesy.
If I need the police, it means I'm in immediate and unavoidable danger of losing my life or being severely injured. I took out a life insurance policy from Beretta and Colt to cover that possibility, so I'm good. Response time is pretty good too, faster than the police ever were.
I have yet to come across a time I needed the police, and I doubt I ever will.
I DO however fully support my local firefighters and hospitals. Both with cash and volunteer time.
You are in fact wrong. Not only are there significant amounts of natural rock that are radioactive naturally on earth, but the rocks in space have been bombarded by cosmic radiation for eons.
>Americans are more obsessed about doing what they want, when they want and expecting everyone else to accept that.
And we wouldn't have it any other way. America is one of the last countries where the rights of the individual still mean something. Of course, some states place greater restrictions on it, like California, New York (primarily NYC), and other locations, but in the vast majority of the country, we are free to do as we will so long as we don't be stupid about it and go on mass murder sprees.
People call us uncultured, but those people have the same issues in their country, just with different names and backgrounds to the same stories. The difference is, in our country, the individual can still do something about most issues.
>On an unrelated note, my son's name is mircosoft.
You are a bad parent!
Dumbass scientists. If they wanted it to mean it doesn't get warmer, they could have called it GLOBAL COOLING!
Stupid scientists.
Quite well, in fact.
Fsck! I knew I forgot something!
Faraday your house, set up encryption on your home lines or use a voip to make that easier.
Criminals of the USA unite! All we have to lose are our freedoms. Wait, we lost those already. Unite!

Crypto, check
Copy of constitution and laminated ten command- er amendments, check
Internet connection, check
Go! Go! Go!
Am I missing anything?
Oh yes:

They did not.

Odd. I could never get directx to work properly in 2003 server 32 bit.
I take it 2008 server was not crippled as 2003 server was for such a purpose?

>I'm pretty sure that's not legal anywhere -- not even in Texas
Actually, it is legal to shoot your neighbor's robber in Texas.

Actually, at that point I need a lawyer because my security company is slightly trigger happy.
Good. The US can now legally declare "The War on Loonies" now.

Oh, but your comment about thermate is hilarious. I'll give you points for that one.
I saw lots of variables, and stopped processing your post. Can you just tell me what X is? I don't feel like trying to solve it.
Yes.
