    The issue here that allowed the collapse appears to be the issue of campaign finance (lobbying) and biased media coverage.

    Or when you start removing the built in security to the system it helps progress the collapse faster. Like when we killed the states rights and gave the people the right to vote for the Senate which allows lobbying to have a greater affect on the system by needing the candidates in the senate race to campaign more instead of keeping the people in the state government happy.

    Actually Hiroshima was nuked with uranium in a uranium gun type bomb but Nagasaki used the plutonium implosion bomb like we used at Trinity, but your point remains.

    What more do you want?

    No DRM and a system to get the product on my compuer without having to get a new OS. I use Linux not Windows or OS X.

    Linux distribution which isn't just supported by the OS vendor but which is also supported and recommended by the manufacturer of your expensive mission critical software.
    ubuntu is certified with IBM's db2http://www.ubuntu.com/news/db2cert and on Sun's ultraSPARC T1 http://www.ubuntu.com/news/sunfire yes ubuntu may have the most certifications but it is getting there. I would guess oracle would be the next step.

    they pay millions of dollars for critical applications. The last thing a large enterprise would want to depend on is some teenager providing free support on an IRC channel.

    NASA has put up every single US military sattelite.
    Do you have proof for that because i think the military contracts to many different companies like Boeing and Lockeed Martin. Those companies may use NASA or military launch sites to launch it.

    the people in the big states may like splitting the votes between the candidates better then giving the all to one. when it is a very close vote and candidate 1 gets 51% vote and candidate 2 gets 49% vote. the people who voted for candidate 2 would want half the votes for there candidate but then that also will eliminate some of the uses for the electoral college.

    sony can't afford the ps3 to be a dud they lost $578M in Q1 http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2024 but they did say it was mostly because of ps3 development also samsung made $2B so sony really needs ps3 because they should have been able to make money even with ps3 development.

    i say if the people that own the shuttle (which is the politians) and the people in the shuttle (the austronauts) want to go then let them. I know that i would have go into a shuttle the day after columbia got destroyed. Just as long as it isn't a c name both those shuttles died. only 2 flights out of 114 flights were destroyed.
