By monkeys throwing shit I assume you mean Ballmer "monkey boy" throwing chairs. Based on the repeated troll posts related to linux that guy probably IS Ballmer.
Our current plans are to test thoroughly with existing apps and infrastructure if released 2009. If that goes smooth and/or fixes are in place by March 2010 we will roll out summer 2010. As all data is stored on file servers we will image all machines with a Windows 7 fresh install based image. We are currently running XP Pro and will be bypassing Vista. Currently our Snow Leopard adoption plans are slated for summer 2010 as well due to a likely June or after release date. We will be going to Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04 this summer for our Linux boxen.

Basic premise, for the past 5 years Microsoft has 81 percent margins ($189,878 billion) versus Apple's 32% percent ($31 billion). Microsoft tax has been brilliantly spent on Zune (trounced by Apple), Windows search (trounced by Google), and Vista (trounced by XP). I don't agree with the further discussion about antivirus as I feel all computer users should have some form of antivirus and there are free solutions for Macs, PC's, and Linux.
Newegg carries crucial and kingston ram which is comparable to the micron (crucial), samsung, nanya, and hynix Apple normally uses. The Mac Pro is a special exception as it previously used custom fb-dimms due to cooling. macsales.com and www.transintl.com are good sources for quality inexpensive ram when Apple does use something proprietary.
My guess the custom firmware has more to do with Apple's monitoring and management tools for the Xserve. That being said, I have swapped out the ATA drives in a Xserve G4's drive modules with success. I went from the included 120GB drives to 250GB drives. I ran them for close to three years. I finally retired the server after purchasing a new Intel based Xserve to replace it. The reason the SATA drives are listed under SAS on the Intel Xserve is because they are connected to a SAS drive controller that is backwards compatible with SATA drives. I have two G5 xserves. I may try upgrading the SATA drives in the ADM's this summer since these are now out of warranty and are being moved to a less critical role.
Perhaps. I've built newegg part boxes in the past as well. I have never been able to get my money back out of them. Instead of buying the Mac Pro and keeping it untell it's worthless, I purchase the new one when it comes out (usually annually) and dump the old one on craigslist or ebay. I tend to get almost as much out of it as I put into the next one. Part of this is due to the difference between education price I pay and retail. I pull the 3rd party drives out of the old and put them into the new and usually am up and running in minutes unless I need to update the Mac OS for the new hardware. Obviously the linux and Windows VM's just work. I also due a lot of video encoding via handrake on Mac OS while running my VM's. This box is also my dvr and gaming machine. Go build your multiple whiteboxes. Obviously my suggestion isn't for everyone.
Actually, resell value of Mac Pro's is unbelievable via Ebay and such. You can sell the previous model for almost as much as you paid for it. Stick that in your Mac tax. Have kids in school? You can get it even cheaper. He's experimenting which would suggest short term.
Maybe Google gave it up for undisclosed cash to Apple since they are using the same term for a new type of multicore support in Snow Leopard. Eric Schmidt sits on Apple's board. Crazier things have happened.
They won't use this on flights back from Vegas. All the cheating husbands and wives that over gambled their nest egg and just got done lying to said spouse on the phone will gum up the system. "What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas" has a whole new meaning when you aren't allowed to board your flight home.
When I am forced to run Windows because are DBA isn't willing to use something cross platform for trouble ticket system it sucks. I get to devote large portions of drive space for MS Access. Web based (postgre or mysql anyone) or Filemaker Pro would be nice. When mac users have to run Windows, it is usually do to the fanboyish attitude of some Windows user.
It's a frivolous lawsuit against several software companies. Kind of my point that EULA's and frivolous lawsuit protection have little correlation at all.

There is no patch for human stupidity. Just goes to show that if you do illegal file sharing you need good antivirus regardless of platform.
This is funny no matter which side of the PC/Mac/Linux debate you are on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbJSuduTrPs

"I wonder if it only works so well because it was made for mac first?" Actually it was made for Be OS first.
Not to be confused with ICBM's. :-)
ya damned kids and your google. We never had google when I was a kid. If you wanted porn you had to peek into the crack in the side of the outhouse.

Must maintain Purity of Essence. Nuclear wars have been started over such things. (Dr. Strangelove)

Xeon based, easy access to multiple drive bays, dual gigabit ethernet, etc. Runs linux, Windows, Mac OS X
Nope. It's the whoosh sound of a dead pan joke going over your head.
Pedophile.
They said they were looking for the Vista Grail. I told them we already have one.

I have tested all three of these products. I like Sun Virtualbox not just for price (free) but for performance.
Maybe if midget or amputee porn are in your top sites. Believe it or not, I have no porn sites in my top sites.
The new top sites feature is cool. It shows the sites you visit most often all in a window.
Flavo-Flav!!!
