I have seen bottles stretched to 3x their normal size, and some blown inside out... depending on how violently the chemicals react there can be quite a bit of pressure beyond a small leak. I have also seen bottles blow over 30 feet in the air... these are not Mentos bombs or lit matches...
Never seen a Works bomb on YouTube, huh? Take a look and see how destructive one can be... it is a heated chemical reaction that melts the bottle as it attempts to expand and contain it prior to exploding and spraying caustic toilet bowl cleaner all about...
This is printed on every bottle of toilet bowl cleaner:

It doesn't take an 'A' student to realize that performing an unauthorized 'experiment' with dangerous chemicals on school property is a bad idea...I'm sure she had seen the YouTube videos of a 'Works Bomb"... oh, did I say bomb? Yes, these pack a devastating wallop and spray caustic chemicals...
Tell me again how race have anything to do with it?
Last night we found out that my Mattel Electronics "Las Vegas" pinball from 1977 broadcasts its sounds across 96.1Mhz to 107.9Mhz! We started hearing the game on the boom box 30 feet across the room!
Every "green" vehicle with the exception of a Tesla, is a big dork-mobile. Excuse me, tiny dork-mobile..
My 32-year-old Comuta-Car may be a tiny dork-mobile, but I can drive to work and back home for less than a dime and could feasibly go almost a week without needing to plug it in to charge. I have an 8 mile round trip to work and back. I can't get my Triumph motorcycle warmed up or my Dakota truck started for a dime, how about you?

I still have my Hacked STEREO C64 with built in Epyx FastLoad, along with 3 or 4 more C64s of every generation, several VIC20s, a few C128s, a couple of Apple IIe/c/GS..my 16M TimexSinclair TS1000, and a garage and basement full of PCs of every description. I no longer have my PET or RadioShack Model I, but I do have my Compaq Portable III lunchbox with red plasma display.
You can stay on my lawn, just grab that push mower while your standing there!
Bobby commented about the wing in the video for the first speed record... it is more for appearances because the kids like it.
Bobby Cleveland is a great guy and someone that I'm proud to call a friend... he is the most polite southern boy you'd ever care to meet and he knows his engines... that's why Gold Eagle hires him to drive that big transport truck around as the Engine Answer Man.
Sorry I posted the above as AC... forgot I hadn't logged into Slashdot with my new Windows 7.0 32-bit Pro install. So used to being autologged in that I forgot to check first.
No problems installing 32-bit or 64-bit 7.0 Pro on former XP machines except audio card support.
But I liked writing programs for GEOS!...once I figured out what that crazy object oriented stuff was all about.
Ahh, the good old days... makes me want to go home and fire up one of my 64s or 128s and play a little.
Mod +6 Funny for making me laugh on a Monday morning...

As I said I haven't seen the movie yet, but it was said that if you didn't know about the Apartheid, as many younger filmgoers may not, you would see it as just a believeable sci-fi plot.
If you do some research into the movie you will find that it is loosely based upon the author growing up in South Africa during the Apartheid. I have not seen the movie yet, but there are supposedly many subtle references to this throughout the film. It was said that it was written to be viewed and enjoyed as just another sci-fi story, but if you looked deeper there was another message to be found.
As funny as this joke sounds, we have a truck eating bridge in our town. It averages a couple dozen a year. Just yesterday it ate TWO! It hasn't made the paper yet or I'd post a link.
The problem is that the rate of incline exiting the area below the bridge is steep enough to elevate the trailer if it is more than XX feet long. They always blame the trucker and fine them, but I call BS... those truckers know EXACTLY how tall their trucks are. The bridge needs to be signed with a sign that says no trucks over 12' rather than bridge height 13' 6"...
They are finally getting a federal grant to resolve the issue... the problem is that it is a train overpass and there are water, gas and powerlines below the road surface, so they have to relocate all of the utilities in order to lower the road surface to make adequate clearance.
Leave it to a town that has the past accomplishments of being one of the only towns in the US that Main Street is a dead end on both ends and the town sued itself over a giant hot dog on the roof of a restaurant.
On the plus side, we are the home to the state flower and a multi-season national champion college football team.
I think that everybody stopped at that point... if you don't have an ongoing internet connection the game continues to function for a time... reconnect and that countdown resets I'm sure... if it does timeout, then you get on a browser anywhere in the world, not necessarily even with the game PC, and get a reactivation key. Not really that big of a deal.

Yes, after the record setting run, Bobby put the blades on and mowed a patch of grass to prove that it is indeed still a lawnmower.
No, the original poster was correct... SMED-head, as in Smed-prep... but thanks for playing!
