Couple that with a sad growing xenophobic hatred for immigrants, from people with no understanding of economic change, and a firm belief that anyone not born in sacred american soil must not be as smart as them, as deserving as them.

Here's your mistake, right where I added the emphasis.
Immigration-wise, the "right" CA is not CAlifornia but CAnada.

My experience is a bit outdated but near the turn of century it was easier and faster for a skilled professional to get a permanent resident visa than a work visa and the sheer number of 1st, 2nd or at worst 3rd generation immigrants made xenophobia a non-issue. After all, it's hard to hate immigrants when your one grandmother speaks Cantonese while the other has a thick Polish accent.

you seem to be confusing atheism with anti-theism.

Similarly to the difference between immoral (not moral) and amoral (unrelated to morals), atheism is not "a belief that there is no god", it is "a lack of belief that there is a god" (plural included).

Atheism is the faith that you will not stand accountable for your actions.

That's a crock of hope and change.

Atheism is the belief that the choice of your actions, and therefore the responsibility for them, is ultimately yours.

The morally dead will choose atheism.

Tell me, who is the more "moral" person, the one who chooses morality because they fear a punishment or expect a reward from an ultimate authority, or the one that does so just because they feel that it is the right thing to do?

The baby-killing, wife-cheating, porn-addicted, sociopathic, sexual-experimenting person will choose atheism

And yet the atrocities committed in the name of religion vastly outnumber those committed in the name of atheism (or anti-theism).

Windows Update checks your PC to determine which updates it needs depending on what software and devices you have installed. Microsoft is committed to helping protect your privacy, and does not collect your name or other personally identifiable information. For more details on how the information is protected, see the Windows Update privacy statement.

In other words, while MS does not directly collect my name and phone number, they can uniquely identify my computer by "make and model, version and ID numbers, and other such details". You have obviously not done any gambling online. A large percentage, perhaps even the majority of online gambling, is poker. When you go to an online poker site, you are not playing against the house/online gambling site. You are playing against other players, and the gambling site gets its money by charging a fee, a percentage of the buy in in a tournament or a percentage of the pot.

I wouldn't even put poker in the same "gambling" category as casino games (online or otherwise), as it was clearly demonstrated that in poker skill dominates luck.
Sure, there is the element of chance but then, it is also present in contract bridge and in backgammon and you don't hear those referred to as gambling.

Of course there is no 100% guarantee that the online gambling site is not putting an employee that can see the cards in on a table, but that would really net them so little money in comparison to hosting 100's or even thousands of tables simultaneously, and getting their little fee from each of them. Not the mention the damage to their reputation if it were discovered (there is great competition amongst online poker sites.)

There can be no 100% guarantees but, given the large number of people analyzing the games for statistical and behavioral discrepancies, it will be hard to pull something like that off. The Absolute Poker scandal shows that cheating will be detected.

Also, the major online poker sites do their best to detect bots, collusions and other forms of cheating using their own server-side analysis. After all, nobody in their right mind wants to kill the goose that lays golden eggs.
