it makes absolutely no sense for Microsoft to keep trying to exist in a space in which they have proven that they cannot compete. It's just costing them money. They have always been shit at it, it has never made them any money, and it never will.

Which is precisely why I want them to make more phones! ;)

  6. Totally opposite opinion! on Windows 10 Mobile Needs To Be Put Out of Its Misery (betanews.com) · · Score: 1

Microsoft has done a poor job of making phones but they got a lot of good designs after they bought Nokia's phone making division. Yes, they are losing a lot of money on making these devices but I think they need to totally rededicate themselves to building a new phone to put on the market. Doing this will undoubtedly cost them even more money and other parts of Microsoft may even possibly suffer as a result but it's for the greater good. We are talking about how best to destroy Microsoft, right? ;)

  8. Intel has just come out with a new version of their compiler to build games that will run even faster on Intel chips. AMD chips, well, it's not like we're sabotaging them by making it as slow as possible. I mean, that would be unethical!

Use our compiler and chips or you're a communist! ;)

  9. Bizarre you say... So it's difference that it's okay to make fun of?

That is a common, perhaps even natural, reaction to unfamiliar differences. That doesn't make it ethical.

It also doesn't make it unethical which is to conclude that it's not a matter of ethics. However, I don't think anything in relation to president mango is ethical. He has clear conflicts of interest in business and now has invoked nepotism. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! If you think you are taking the high road, perhaps you should consider his attempts to ban muslims from the nation, his associations with neo-nazis, his baseless accusations, his attempt to take healthcare away from those who need it most, his complete and total disregard for the environment, mockery of a disabled person and sooo much more!

Feel free to ignore all that and instead nitpick at everyone that isn't king mango.

I'm inclined to believe that trolling is merely the outcome of removing consequences from bad behavior. The Stanford prison experiment showed how power can corrupt individuals and it seems like trolling is the internet equivalent outcome. Sadly, it may come down to needing to develop AI that can police internet forums for us if we want to keep things civil. It's a dangerous solution but it's the only way I foresee things drastically improving without radically overhauling how the internet functions.

This procedure could be made a reality if we had the technology to properly integrate nerves quickly on a "large" scale, meaning at least partial spinal column. Without this, the transplanted head would be unable to command even the most basic function needed: breathing. Sure, you could have a machine breath for you but your odds of survival and quality of life go waaay down... unless you have money to afford all the assistive care you would need. I appreciate medical advancements as much as the next guy but even if this procedure worked, it wouldn't be advancing anything except for a doctor's ego.
