I call it "firing the pussies" and how it works is simple: you just tell the police officers who are unwilling to do their job that they are fired and you hire people that will do their jobs properly. i assume that nobody will do this because it's patented, right? -_-
public education should embrace computer science but they should not force children to learn any particular programming languages because it's a niche skill and programming is not for everyone. however, generic logic and problem solving/deconstruction is something that every child should learn.
Everything in history sets a precedent. As fun as destroying this country sounds, that should not be the defacto way of humanity. Someone needs to come up with a better solution because feature generations will use this as an example. Doing nothing is also not an option even though they are assuredly 98% hype.
Doing nothing is not an option? What are you talking about?! Doing nothing has been working for several decades with minimal financial investment!
i would be interested in seeing how this decrease correlates with the dirty tricks that sites pull and the level of bullshit/advertisements people are exposed to or shunned for blocking. i suspect a strong correlation between disrespecting your members and people spending less time using your service.
They could most certainly turn off civilian GPS on select parts of the planet, like a over a continent. A GPS satellite only serves a given cone below its current position, by turning a satellite off when the cone enters an area you want to block it in, and on again if it leaves it you can block the whole area.
your ignorance of GPS technology has been exposed. i suggest you take care of that.
The Doctor protects Earth from external threats. He's quite happy to let us tear ourselves apart. However, being fictional has him at a considerable disadvantage, which only a stand alone complex could hope to resolve.
The computers and functions dealing with the operation of the car need to be isolated from the entertainment systems, including WiFi, at least so far as inputs are concerned.
sadly, i think that's something that will need the force of law before they will start abiding by such basic security precautions.
obviously they have too much paper passed about if 7% of the staff is getting paper cuts. they should really move to a paperless workplace. #OnlyReadTheTitle
I didn't say anything when various stores, banks and social media sites were getting hacked because I knew that networked computers came a price. But now YOU DO THIS TO PIZZA?! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
one of the limitations of maskless lithography is getting a sharp enough lens. an advancement like this could push the limitations from hundreds of nanometers down to what's on par with modern fabrication technologies. being able to cheaply prototype chips before mass production would be a HUGE advancement for the IC development field. it also moves us closer to a tabletop computer manufacturing lab.
If you have a child, you would be insane to rely on public tests
i haven't heard any news about labs being flooded with water testing samples (get it, flooded) which means that 99.9999% of the population must be insane. congratulations to 5 couples that are not insane but a bit of bad news, WE'RE ALL CRAZY!
I took a quick look at CoreOS and all it's companion software noticed that everything the but the lowest level stuff was written entirely in Go and Shell... and LOTS of it. While Shell will live on, no guarantees that Go won't be unsupported in a few years. This really looks like another unmaintainable mess.
We do have a habit of ruining the Earth's ecosystem in order to get access to raw minerals, so in this regard, Mr. Bezos is correct. However, it should be noted that we are already destroying the ecosystem with our chemical fuel power sources and discarded products. If we really want to save the Earth, we should 1) focus on moving away from chemical power sources to electromagnetic power sources and 2) reprocessing and recycling 100% of things that have been discarded (including sewage).
If we manage these two things, the Earth will have been mostly saved and we can shift more focus toward geoengineering and external mineral sources. That is how the Earth could be saved.
Can we please send the members of congress on the first flight?! I mean come on, what's the worse that could happen?... and please include details. ;)

how about managers stop playing games and start treating their teams as people rather than "assets".
What's next, people fooling Comcast?! -_-

Even the Doctor can't save you now.

What about telling the satellites directly to not send positional data anymore?
because it's a Global Positioning System.
Except crony capitalism is rampant, and so it is not a truly free market.
that's irrelevant because the concept of a "free market" requires perfect information which is impossible.
Will they have one that doesn't "phone home"?
Oh come on, Eric! Just call your mother already, she misses you.

I was on a school field trip, wandered away from the group and was bitten by a radioactive programmer. Pretty standard stuff.

and i'm saying that GCC and LLVM come in 32-bit and 64-bit flavors.
I didn't say anything when various stores, banks and social media sites were getting hacked because I knew that networked computers came a price. But now YOU DO THIS TO PIZZA?! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!
GCC and LLVM have full 64-bit capabilities and are free.

tell me when it gets road rage and starts honking at pedestrians before mowing them over and then i'll be impressed! :)

that mental illness is a medical issue. our society is neglecting its own people which always has tragic results.
and i guess you don't know that Shell is a UNIX standard.
