So freedom of speech is now "sensational political content".
Not in the least. If you look at the tabloid-esque content that was being pushed through multiple accounts, you will see it was in fact maximally sensational.
No freedom after speech as the account is removed.
You are one of these many misguided people that seems to think you can say anything you want and people have to just put up and listen to you. However, the truth is you are simply not being jailed for saying things. A site owner has zero obligation to keep your content on their site, especially when it just points to your own website which you make money off from.
Remember, the freedom of speech means you stay out of jail but does nothing to force people to listen to you.
I'd appreciate a search engine that gives me exactly what I search for. I can filter things myself and get better at searching and get what I'm looking for that way.
And if you build or pay for it then you can have just that.
Either the ULA is really lucky or they lobbied to ensure specific requirements that SpaceX FH and BFR weren't certified for yet. What this does is give the ULA time to catchup to or copy SpaceX and hope they can somehow compete on price. A decade may seem like a long time but for rocketry it's really not. It's unlikely the ULA will survive once this contract ends without making radical changes and heavy investments. Both are unlikely because the ULA is an agreement between two megalithic defense contractors who are very much in it for the money.
The ULA is dead and life support will be removed in 10 years.
This is a fantastic development. Humanity has been plagued with genetic health issues that continue to propagate because they aren't significant enough prevent it. This could lead to each generation of humans becoming increasingly healthier. If people want to cry about "playing God," fine by me. However, I would like to see future generations never have the myriad of defects that fundamentally alter their lives. Also no more glasses.:)
But ofc when China can do it now, they go wild with their "police state" accusations.
You know, I think the fact that they have been suppressing dissent and then hunting down dissidents to jail them might have something to do with that whole police state thing. Then again, maybe it's the re-education prisons that they are putting Muslims into. No wait, maybe it's the massive video surveillance network they are building out. Wait, no, I'm sure it's the social ranking system they are using keep "undesirables" from traveling or buying things.
I'm sorry, it's just so hard to keep track of why people think China is a police state.
While the US federal government has a distinct lack of political will change pollution, it is still possible for states to take action that will have a wide effect.
For example, a state could require an environmental tax on all products (including imports) that are equivalent to the cost the remove the pollution expelled in the production (or use) of the product. They could then use that money to fun CO2 capture systems. Naturally, you would want to ramp this up over a few years as to reduce the economic impact. While the demands of a single state would have a small impact, it would provide the political cover for other states to join in.
This would soon bankrupt coal power plants and quickly point power companies toward ramping up environmentally friendly power sources lest competition take their profits. So if some state politicians can just grow a pair and do this then we'll be on our way to environmental recovery.
Good progress is made by the brave, not the cowards who only think of themselves.
Remember when the new MS CEO announced they were cutting the QA department and everyone was like, "that's a bad idea" and then the software got worse? Congratulations, beta testers! More beta software is coming soon to your PC!
Don't thank MS, you've earned your data loss through your stubborn determination to stick with Windows no matter what!;)
The chips Intel are putting out still have the same deep flaws as before, slower and are more expensive than AMD chips. Why in hell are you still wanting to use an Intel chip?!
If you believe anything Marc Thiessen writes then you're as dumb as he is. Mr. Thiessen is the most disingenuous writer and greatest partisan hack I know besides Megan McArdle who is so insanely partisan that she argued in favor of insider trading after Republican Rep. Chris Collins was caught doing it!
I'd at least consider drones considered lower stakes than human life, and it doesn't seem like we have much trouble with laws allowing law enforcement or government agents to shoot humans that "might pose a threat".
I don't disagree but now what am I supposed to do with all these drone disguises I was going to sell to people to prevent them from being shot by the police?;)
If you remove the need for human labor you could theoretically operate as a sealed system and not require any pesticides or herbicides, since there would be no access path for weeds or bugs.
Sure but it's a tiny farm. Real farms that feed people are measured in square miles. The price of sealed farms would far exceed their value and that doesn't even include maintenance costs for the building/structure. It's not a realistic plan.
While this isn't going to replace industrial farming, it's a small step in the direction of autonomous crop management. However, what we should pushing to build robots to support outdoor horticulture farms. Monoculture is a weakness requiring heavy use of pesticides and herbicides which is harmful and unsustainable.
I for one would like to welcome our robotic farm overlords.
Look, I know we've built our societies on CO2 belching cars and CO2 diarrhetic energy production but it's a real problem that we need to fix. We have the technology to build carbon capture systems remove CO2 from the air with 1000x the efficacy of trees (per square meter) but it needs to be built and maintained. Therefore it seems only logical that there be a tax on all the things that produce CO2 so that money can be used to capture it. Obviously, this will make lower and non-polluting products far more attractive as they will be cheaper.
The solution is known and it's extremely frustrating that there is a total lack of will to implement it.
That doesn't mean that the SWAT people don't go out to the location. Only that they do not deploy as the *first* option before there are any eyeballs on the scene.
What and have them give up an opportunity to play soldier? Good luck with that! -_-
The only human to ever earn Nobels in 2 different fields is... a woman. And it happened more than a century ago, when, according to you, men were oppressing women left and right. (much earlier than that, science was moving at a very slow pace anyhow)
"The Curie family has received the most prizes, with four prizes awarded to five individual laureates." Hmm... it's almost like having scientifically reputable family members was beneficial! Congratulations on figuring out why women were almost unanimously dismissed instead of being unanimously dismissed. -_-
Does he not even recognize that ideas and discoveries by women were almost unanimously dismissed and women even prohibited from participating in scientific fields or hell, any academic field until recently?
It's very disappointing that some scientists fail to realize how drastically the world has changed in the last 100 years.
So freedom of speech is now "sensational political content".
Not in the least. If you look at the tabloid-esque content that was being pushed through multiple accounts, you will see it was in fact maximally sensational.
Here's a more complete article that explains the type of content that was removed.

This also makes me nervous because 1) framing someone just got a lot easier and 2) my body closet is running out of space. ;)
I for one would like to welcome our new robot ninja overlords. (If you were smart then you would too.)
I'd appreciate a search engine that gives me exactly what I search for. I can filter things myself and get better at searching and get what I'm looking for that way.

If the human race does not get that problem under control fast, nothing else will save it.
This is perhaps the problem that humans are best equipped to handle. I mean, we could wipe out billions of people in less than an hour. ;)

This doesn't pass the smell test. They definitely have an angle here, we just don't know what it is.
You don't say! -_-
If only someone had known Intel was going to do this, maybe we could have stopped them.
If you are not detecting the sarcasm then it's probably because you've died.

Mellenials are...
Generation scapegoat at your service, sir! We're just the worst so blame everything on us!
I don't have a car. Haven't flown in 10 years. Do you think the progressives thank me? You know, for living their vslues?
Why would you need to be thanked for not doing something? Do you also complain that women don't thank you for not raping them?
Progressives don't give a rat shit what I DO,
Most people don't give a shit about what anyone does as long as it's not harming others.
they only care what I say. I could drive a big ol' SUV, but as long as I talked the talk, I'd be A-OK.
What you say is often a reflection of how you act and what you support.

Also, apparently it's considered humane to euthanize mice with CO2? I'd think that'd cause painful asphyxiation.
It depends on the air mixture. Inhaling a dense cloud of CO2 results in immediate unconsciousness followed by death.
This phenomenon has been documented as it happened to a village by a lake where tons of CO2 spewed out from a lakebed and killed many people by the lake. The people who suffered were the ones who survived but were still exposed as it caused them to cough until they bled.
I am Israeli and got no such message.
Here's the important part: are you currently located in Israel? ;)
