I recently upgraded my machine for playing games. I spent about $450 and built something *significantly* better than what is shown in this article.
How? By buying cheap/discount/used hardware off eBay. It's really just that simple.
I could have easily spent several hundred more dollars on the same stuff by buying from an actual store.
Oh, whoops. A byte is not a SI unit. The terms kilobyte, megabyte, etc. where just sort of "made up" based on SI prefixes. They're approximations of what would be their meaning if they were SI. It's too bad people can't just accept it.
Why would a company advertise with "kilobyte = 1000", etc.? Obviously not because that's the correct meaning. The fact that they're the only ones that use it throws that right out. They just want to have a higher number on their box so it looks like their product has more memory that it really does.
So what if they've been doing it for years? It's bullshit. Everyone should use the same definition. We can't magically make 2^10 = 1000, so guess who's got to change.
We already figured out what causes global warming: the sun!
But seriously, a warmer planet is not automatically a bad thing. It's doesn't cause mass drought and famine. This is FUD. They want something, and they want people to believe their reports so they can get it. Scaring people with doom-saying is the easiest way, apparently.
... and how was the N64 or GameCube a flop? They were great systems. They had great games.
The Wii has a lot of promise. I'm sure I won't be "disappointed once again", since I've never need disappointed with any Nintendo system.
RPG titles had awesome 2D graphics back in the SNES days, like FF3. How about Chrono Trigger?...
I agree, FF3 and Chrono Trigger have excelent graphics. They are a couple of my favorite games. =) I was suprised that neither of those games (or Tales of Phantasia) made the list. Just in case you've never played it, here's a couple Tales of Phantasia screen shots: http://i6.tinypic.com/14oai2r.png & http://i6.tinypic.com/14oaixu.png They aren't actually very good shots, but you get the general idea of what it looks like.
It's good to know that RuneScape is still spiraling downhill out of control, on fire.
PS
Cooking lobsters turns them from brown to red, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
Everyone knows eggs came first. Even if not the chicken egg, certainly other kinds. =)
The story isn't about that. It's about scientists and philosophers actually agreeing on something!:O
This is not news. This is useless bullshit.
Boooooooooooooooooo. Gtfo.

This is what I want to know.
So uh, if they don't shoot people, what are they for?
"In what I can only see as good news..."
What? Since when has Bethesda been perceived as being a good game developer?
When I see "Bethesda" on a box I think "Ehh. Bugs and mediocre gameplay."
I'm really curious as to what would make someone think this event is a good thing.

RIP global warming.
This offends me. What the hell is wrong with people?
They have to make sure you keep paying for it after you buy it.
But don't take my word for it; see for yourself! http://i11.tinypic.com/48bt477.png

Direct translation:
>> "I am an idiot."
Now go click on the sidebar ads, and the pop-ups, and flips through all the pages of that crap so he can get more hits.
How can "The Ten Greatest Years in Gaming" not cover 1998? Wtf is that? D:
Wtf.
P.S.
StarCraft, anyone?

You'll be able to experience a guy with a mullet smoking and punching dogs like never before!
