    I liked Windows Phone also. Never was I ever interrupted with a phone call as the phone helpfully rebooted on receipt of a call. Also had some wonderful apps that made edlin look like an app for LCARS.....LOL!

    Seriously, the windows phone I had (an HTC) ran yards better with the hacked version of Android than it ever did with Windows Phone.

    Not necessarily Google fanboys as much as sick of Microsoft running rough shot over the entire industry for the last 15+ years.

    Software algorithms, especially as most programmers were taught from the same basics, can be very ubiquitous. While I think coding implementation of an alogrithm can be unique and should be copyrightable, granting patents on the algorithm is a very flawed and growth inhibiting concept. It's nice to see ANY lawmaker realizing this and trying to correct this egregious error that, IMHO, has gimped software development for the last 20 years. I wonder when the laws in the U.S. will catch up with this way of thinking and put an end to all the freaking patent trolls.

    Wouldn't it be terribly ironic if Amazon was using Linux internally, taking advantage of the hard work of the open-source community, only to shun them away from using any content being generated?

    Perhaps another clause is needed in GPL?

    I tried a friends Amazon Prime account earlier this month on XBMC. It worked great and had some content of which interested me. So much so that, last evening I signed up for Prime, only to find today that I can't even use it. Oh well, so much for the 30-day trial.

    After years of research and painstaking hours of coding, Common Sense Software of Cambridge recently released a package called Personal Responsibility v1.0.

    It seems many people could actually use this. Too bad it's not FOSS.

    Maybe we could get a crowd-source project to provide copies to all the members of the US Congress as they apparently have a problem focusing on their jobs also :).

    The only touch device I like using with my computer only gets used when browsing for porn..... :) Seriously, it's bad enough to not be able to touch-type through a form without having to leave home-row and use the mouse or touch pad. I certainly don't want to be gorilla-swiping my screen in between fields just because Microsoft wants to make more money. WTF!

    Up until last year, they had their own inside IT person who was from the mainframe world and was a bit out of her element. They have 50 people and 49 different workstations. Not my choice. Not my sale. They have been buying onesy/twosy machines since slooooooowly transitioning from Wyse serial terminals into the PC world.

    Most of the people who commented on this portion of the main post should really sit down and watch Glengarry, Glenn Ross: "Never open your mouth when you don't know the shot". Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
