Miguel de Icaza said they had an awesome presentation on.NET when he gave his talk on Mono at the Ximian booth. I didn't personally see their demonstration, but that may have had something to do with them winning the best of show.

If you're looking for good web designs, you might check out OSWD. It is a great place for designers or webmasters to go to submit their web designs they have made or to download a web design for their site. Whether you're just too lazy to make your own design or if you have no creative talent, you can use the design templates on the site as a solution to your problem. I hope this doesn't seem too much like shameless promotion.;-) I'm just saying that we're here in case you need inspiration or a place to vent the designs you've created yourself.
I agree totally. When the N64 and PS1 first came out I remember going to Toys-R-Us and asking an older gamer which he would get. He told me that he would get the PS1 since Sony had all of their money to invest into making the console and Nintendo had been spending money on previous consoles and game development. Now, this may have been a pretty shallow statement by the stranger but I enjoyed my PS1 for a while playing Tekken and other PS1 release games. Then, tragically, my house burned down and took my Playstation with it. I immediately went to Wal-Mart and bought an N64. I got it home and started playing it and noticed that the games were much higher quality. Sony's games felt nothing like the ones made by Nintendo and Rare. While Sony may have spent lots of money, Nintendo and Rare had the experience it took to pull off a great looking and great feeling gaming experience. After about 3 years with my N64 I got a Dreamcast last Christmas and I have loved it. The games are good and very slick, especially Sonic Adventure, and all are pretty well produced. Sega, I believe, is a nice mid-way between Sony and Nintendo. Okay, I'm rambling. I guess what I'm trying to express is that there are a ton of games for PS but only a handful are worthwhile (Please don't reply with a list of all the great PS games. I know your point of view.), Sony makes nice, fast, slick games but some of them lack something I can't quite put my finger on, and Nintendo makes very good playing games although they tend to lean to the kiddy side of the market. Putting all of that together, the new psone's are good if you can't get your hands on a ps2, dreamcasts are great machines, even if they run WinCE, and Nintendo's games have a sort of magic to them.
I agree with this. As much as I would love to play with OS X on my x86 hardware, this is definitely not the right move for Apple right now as confirmed by the issues stated above.
Guys,
Why do we care if Dell is bundling Gnome on some of its business pc's? Most of us will just build our own box, won't we? It's lots cheaper and guess what, we get to choose what we want on it! Gee, what a great idea.
We can have fun once in a while guys but don't ya think you've gone a little overboard in the past few hours? When I want to read the news, I should be able to do it and so should all the other readers. The polls and the funny departments add humor. I think you can pretty safely not try to make people giggle when they read the articles. I know it's 4/01/00 but enough is enough. The news. Now, please.
Anyone ever think about bundling a live CD with an X server on it? I think this might be a good way to get Linux out to the masses. Sure it might be a little like what AOL is doing but if it was a live CD, they wouldn't have to worry about their precious little Windows box but if they liked it, they could go download or purchase the product. As far as CD or even DVD technology has come these days, we could fit a sizeable distribution on a piece of plastic. Just a thought.
So, what if we lose? Is what comes next a boycott on DVDs in the Linux community? I think this would be hypocritical. I'm in no mood to dump my DVDs. I say lets fight till we're the last men standing!
I gleaned from what they submitted that they needed speed. If speed is what they want, a Voodoo card would give them a much faster fps rate. However, I don't know what the Army's gonna use some of this stuff for (DVD??), I'm not gonna question our government.;) I think a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI is the best value. They work very well with Redhat Linux 6.1. Hope this helps.
Imagine a beowulf cluster of... sorry.
Just in time for finals week.
My GPA is shot.
Mars can't declare war if Bush declares it first! Our space weapons will soon be operational! Darth Ronald beware!
If such cases we can fall back on the paper ballet.
Ahhh, the paper ballet. Their performances always seemed a little flimsy to me.
Well, guess you won't be needing that floppy drive anymore. So turn it into a ROBOT!
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
is this. It is a report from someone who saw the 20" Cinema Display alongside the other displays in Apple's lineup.

For those of you who live near Mystic, Connecticut, you can see Jackass penguins at the aquarium there. It's pretty interesting.
