So Nazi Germany could make laws saying Jews were not people and subject to extermination, and that's all right? Being a sovereign nation, they had the right. So the only justification we had for toppling the Nazi regime was their invasion of other sovereign nations; if Hitler had never invaded another country, we should/could have done nothing about it?
You do know that the USA only became involved after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, right?
"Every government official in [insert country your standing in here] should be run out of office on the backs of a mob and replaced with someone who isn't allowed to accept any money for their duties."
Why would you hold a pro-oligopoly protest? The Romans already figured out the hard way that if you don't pay your politicians, you'll get only rich people, who don't need an income, in your government.
We have lots of products with the logo on its packaging, yet there is no Grune Punkt recycling here at all, so it's probably only active in Germany. Also, I read in a paper years ago (the paper has subsequently been recycled;-) ) that the waste that was supposed to be recycled was dumped. These things make me rather sceptical.
No, I don't have a photographic memory, so I can't remember every detail. But I do remember that he had to work on a computer which ran KDE, and he was captured by the K-Directorate, which I found kind of funny, so I remembered it. I don't recall exactly who was in it, there are so many characters and plots, it's hard to remember all the details.
I read that the ESRB rates games by watching game footage, not by actually playing it. That does explain why they never found out about the secret nude Mc. PacMan level...;-)
I didn't say I'm in support of the script, I'm just saying that they want to collect statistics. Lots of websites collect statistics. According to your arguments, Apache logs would be spyware! HTTP request headers would be spyware!
This script is not as much spyware as is a 1x1 image hosted on another site, or an ad banner. Those examples usually contain a query string with encoded data which might contain tracking data.

2) Well, I don't know which domain names Nissan has. I remember the case of a guy named Nissan who has or had nissan.com, so Nissan the car manufacturer might not possess it. So if you want to do business with Nissan the car manufacturer, you might have to dig a little deeper to find out who they really are, and not just be bamboozled by a credible-sounding domain name.

The only thing to distinguish the scammers from the real NEC is that the real NEC people (can) have @nec.com email addresses, and the scammers can't. But perhaps they registered nec under an obscure TLD? (No, I did not RTFA...)
No, I didn't say I'm okay with it. I was trying to reverse-engineer a possible reason for those cameras. They don't make me feel safe. They might make other people feel safe, but I'd rather have more cops on the street than cameras, even though seeing cops on the street makes me feel unsafe, because it implies they're needed there. But since cameras are a lot cheaper, the authorities, for whom security is a big issue nowadays, choose for cameras more and more often.
Yes, I know. They make me feel uneasy too. Seeing clusters of cops in the underground station makes me feel unsafe too, because apparently they're needed there... Funny thing is, they're probably meant to make people feel safe.
How can DVDs be subsidized? The cost of making the movie has already been paid -- any additional DVD sales are more profit. Not selling any DVDs is worse for the studios than selling them cheaply (as long as they sell above the production cost + transport cost + retailer markup + sales tax).
If the movie didn't sell well in the USA, how does that make the studios unable to sell it cheaply in Asia? I'd say they'd be more likely to try and sell it in Asia, since they might make more profits that way. The number of sales is a function of (among other parameters) the price, and in Asia, the optimum for sales * price is at a lower price point than in the USA, but I don't see how sales in the USA should affect the price in Asia? Care to explain?
The magnitude of the punishment isn't a deterrent, only the chance of getting caught is. Hence all the surveillance cameras: even if nobody's there to watch them, there might still be a perceived increased chance of getting caught, so they might act as a deterrent.
I'm not saying I like those cameras, I'm uncomfortable with the assymetric structure (they can see us, but we can't see them), but at least they might prevent crime.
I think that religion actually leads to social bonding rather then breakdown. Religions usually have a christmatic leader (the priest), a standard set of beliefs and communal songs, stories, myths, and ceramonies. These usually help the community survive when the environment changes. (Kinda like evolution actually..)
I think that some religions lead to stronger social bonding, and that those that didn't, became more and more marginal. Much like the evolution of species, actually.

Sorry, but Der Grune Punkt doesn't actually have much to do with recycling. They just say it does, much like "green power".
Of course, I meant Ms. PacMan, not Mc. PacMan. Silly typo.
So that's the part that made the impression on you, eh? ;-)

With a BSD licence, your scenario would be permissible, but not with a GPL licence.
He used KDE because that was on the computer he was forced to work on by the K Directorate. See? They're EVIL! :-P
Except on Linux systems, the audio gets out of sync, and Flash 8 is not supported, which more and more sites seem to use these days.
