there's going to be some very pissed off people when they get their shiny new film home only to find that it won't play. You're WAY behind on the format war if you're still buying movies on film
If someone is in the room shooting at people, then you should hold your ground and shoot back. I'm just saying that if you hear gunshots, you shouldn't go looking for the person that fired them.
How is this common sense? This is dramatized and unrealistic. It's a loaded question that assumes that any student would run TOWARD gunshots if they had a gun on them. Owning a pistol does not turn you into Jack Bauer.
Why can't Random Student B just run away? That's what I would do. I know - not very manly of me, but there's no need to be a hero. I would only shoot if I or someone near me was in immediate danger.
I see what scientists say, but keep in mind that there is usually a divide between what scientists say and what newspapers and magazines say. Are we hearing a lot about globabl warming because of scientists, or because the media feels the need to scare the crap out of us over and over again (as I'm guessing happened with the global cooling thing)? Unfortunately, people tend to listen to the media more than scientists.
Yeah, they should have charged us $50 for a FULL unfinished game. Chances are that you got to play more of the game than you ever would have if it wasn't episodic.
No, that's a good list. I guess I misspoke (most of my post was just an attempt to get in a joke about Soviet Russia), what I meant to say is: was there ever an atheist crusade or jihad equivalent? The people in your list are both atheists and mass-murderers, but they seem to be unrelated.
Wait, are you considering atheism as a religion?
Because the only atheist leader I've heard of that committed mass murder was Stalin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Atheist_pol iticians).
And he was the leader of Soviet Russia, where they do things backwards.
I can't imagine that the openSUSE developers are sticking around because the pay is good. Politics generally play a huge role in Linux. Chances are that those that disagree have already left. (Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6lzEhoXads)
To me, it just seems like a cocky PR move by Shuttleworth.
It's hard to be confident about mathematics with the way that it's being taught in school. It seems to me that people don't enjoy mathematics because they don't understand it. We had things like 1 + 1 = 2 drilled into our heads and we were simply expected to accept it; the first time I heard 1 + 1 = 10 was probably one of the most enlightening in my life. I finally realized that the numbers were just symbols behind a concept, and the concept is quite beautiful.
At first, I was skeptical of someone being able to capture MGS into anything other than a video game - until I saw this:

If only he never played video games! BOO HOO HOO
Why was this modded Troll? I'm sure that a lot of the people who criticize Linus use the Linux Kernel.
Yes, I know, and I'm not trying to represent all matter in the universe. I just don't like it when humans consider themselves separate from nature.
I care, and I'm part of the universe.
Yes, we should all teach our children how disappointing sex really is

Shut up! I can stop any time I want to!
I - I just don't want to right now okay?!
The worst skinny nerd epidemic since the great ramen famine.

We all know that Disney World is better than Disneyland. What makes you think Sealand going to be any better than Sea World?
Slashdot: where you can be modded "flamebait" for saying something nice about Microsoft.

So... Linux is kind of like Nader?
Don't worry, it's just a trick so that when it fails, they can market Coca-Cola Classic as "Coca-Cola without Coffee"
