    "Evaluation" means "giving values". Something that is preferred has a higher value than something that is not preferred.

    Give an example under which a GUI that is fast but not responsive is preferred over a GUI that is slow but creates the illusion of responsiveness. Please restrict the scope to GUI (graphical user _INTERFACE_), not the application that owns the GUI.

    1. Digital zoom is sometimes useful - treat it as "lossless cropping" when you shoot JPEG.

    2. These Canon cameras use PTP. Doesn't act as a USB drive, but isn't proprietary either. Gphoto can read from them. No need to get a CF reader.

    The whole point of CPL is to create confusion with GPL. (just look at the NAME of the licence)

    It is similarly viral (all your derived code if released in source form must be in CPL) and shuts the door on any potential branch to another OSS license, including the GPL.

    It is simply a MS tactic to steal resource and potential code amount that goes to the GPL.

    So, if you're not anti-GPL, don't use the CPL.

    Nintendo doesn't seem to realize that The #1 annoyance of mobile devices is having to take care of batteries. (NO, in this case, a separate power supply is not a solution)

    While what you have described are mathematics, all of them fall into the subcategory called "calculations".

    The rest of mathematics is MUCH more useful than knowing the calculations. Theorem proving, understanding WHY you have to perform those calculations, and dive into the mind of those who actually invented the formulae from scratch, not just using them.

    We don't take seriously anyone who claims to be good at mathematics but do not know about reductio-ad-absurdum, induction, pigeonhole-type proof, etc.

    A twin turbo setup is always not as efficient as a single big turbo.

    Usually people use twin turbos to decrease turbo lag by using one small and one bigger turbo. The smaller turbo spools up quickly to get things moving, then the larger turbo kicks in.

    But in terms of pure power, twin turbo does not make as much sense as a single bigger one. More parts, more maintenance, more complexity, more prone to failure.

    Go to your local cellular phone shop and take a look at one of those phones with keyboards. Some of them will do different things when a key is pressed and held.

    The Veyron is NOT a race car. Far from it. Real race cars do not have all the technical bells and whistles that make mere mortals handle the power easier.

    If these technologies were not in, even 300 horsepowers is difficult to handle - you'll see a lot of Corvettes, Porsches, M3s, AMGs, STIs, SC430s, Devilles, etc. crash at every corner of the streets.

    I fully expect that if Bugatti sells the car as a street car, then, like every other street cars, changes will be made to make the power easy to handle (relatively).

    And, don't worry about a Veyron wreaking havoc. Its high cost serves the purpose of reducing the odds of you being hit by it to almost 0.

    In fact, I suspect that the chance of you SEEING a Veyron on the road is less than that of you being KILLED by some SUV/Civic/Corolla/Cavaliers etc.
