I cannot repeat it enough. OGL uses extensions....yeah, _VENDOR_SPECIFIC_ extensions.
Until the day we get the extension starting with "ARB" it is not a true extension that everyone can use. I only consider standard extensions to be part of OGL. What's the point of using the extension if it only works for one card, and you'll have to write different code in order to support another card?
In this aspect, D3D is doing very well - even though some features are supported only by 1 chip today (e.g. pixel shaders), the interface is neutral. It ensures your code will work without even a recompile when a newer card from another company comes out. Can we do it in OpenGL?
Although I still use OGL, I might not be soon unless *vendor-independent* extensions come out faster.

Voodoo 5 was a special case. If it had a T&L chip everybody would have jumped at it. Their design screwed. The rest of the card is crap - using two chips to achieve what others used one chip for.
What's the point of using 'special' features on a bad card when that bad card is the only card that supports it.
I think we have a vastly different situation right now.
Only existed in the Rage Pro era!
I have used a Rage 128 card last year. UT, HL, NFS...no problem at all. Please give the guys a chance. You can't call a company "makes crap drivers" only because it does not give you more speed with frequent driver releases.
Meanwhile, some of you will know the quality of some NVidia drivers...they just didn't call them Betas just because of their marketing department.
Look. We shouldn't have participated it in the first place. WHY help them to better protect when they try to censor us?
I urge everybody to refrain from any sort of cryptanalisys on RIAA/MPAA protections BEFORE they're in wide use. Secretly do it, and proclaim that you have found a hole after it's already implemented by the mass.
I'd like to see a distro that keeps as little trace as possible of legacy stuffs.
e.g. One that uses Kernel 2.4 all the way, that doesn't have IPTables and the old/dev installed by default, that replaces LILO with GRUB completely, and installs XFree 2.4.x exclusively.
I like new versions of softwares. I hate old versions lying around.
Any recommendation?
I like Gentoo. If it uses apt-get or epkg I'd have chosen it in a heartbeat. Too bad.
Just to clarify your statements, in case the word "oldest" is misinterpreted.
Slackare Linux is one of the distros that has been around for the longest time but is updated often so it is now as 'modern' as the Debians and Redhats.
I'm pretty sure, while they lower the quality of their encoders, will *advertise* about it. Simply because even Joe 6-packs are NOT using WMP to record MP3 nowadays. They download other softwares to encode.
To effectively limit the quality of MP3's recorded, MS has to get everyone using its encoder. But as of now, not many people even KNOW that WMP can encode.
You'll hear a lot about "Now we have MPe encoders built in!!".
Even if he fails his next one, it still won't make him "just another John Romero". Now THIS is just too insulting. At least he *invented* the whole CRPG genre.
Do the same to any Chinese military crafts near the US air border.
Send an empty aircraft on autopilot, crash with it. Kill the pilot. And ask the Chinese government to claim total responsibility for the "death" of a non-existent US pilot.
Apologizing once can bring up so many opportunities. Think about it.
When Windows CE was made, MS heavily trimmed the Win32 API. In fact, almost 90% of the Win32 API is not there for CE. Stuffs with duplicate functionalities, or just not useful.
I wonder if similar work is done to the Linux and the X server that Agenda uses. If it implements the full POSIX and X interface, no wonder it is such a slow beast.
Remember: even small software with small footprints on your desktop machine become bloatware when run on a PDA.
How about making the buildings the monuments at the same time?
Thoughts...when will the new ones be built?
Hm...only 1 or 2 millions would do...IBM, please?
Guys. I used this chipset before. CyberBladeXP...with performance level on par with Rage 128...enuf talk.
Dude, that is Cape *Point*, not Cape Cod.
If it is not a crime - it's only fair game.
Lower your prices, or we'll use 10% of our AIDS budget to send people to your country and have sex with your people. Hehe
By releasing any music at all, they're just opening the opportunity for pirates, thus is the root of all copyright infringements.

Right continent, better country.
I mean, doesn't have IPChain.

Translation: (it looks nonsense, but it might not be accurate - I haven't touched Latin for quite some time)
What if he knows the Latin language, he'll know you are not the other message.
See you,

For an alternative not unlike Winzip, take a look at GUItar. Useful stuff.
You were playing Ultima 5, not 6. It was an easy game, but very fun and had nice music.
You spelt "karma" wrong. No karma for you.

Ultima V on Apple II with sound card.
Very immersive world with even more immersive music. I still can hum all of them after all these years. Gotta be it.
