    I should also say that its not just for wpa_supplicant; it is also used as a general dhcp client gui, so lan cards are managed also.

    The best network manager around is wicd.

    For many it's the only way to get a reliable WPA connection.

    it's basically a nice python frontend to wpa_supplicant that has a tray app that communicates through dbus. I use it on all my Slackware boxes. With enough people nagging *sacasm* the dev released 1.5 that has support for dhcpcd (slackware distros) dhclient, and pump. It's all written in pure python - no compilation needed.

    Complaining? About what? For Nvidia, what you would be looking for is PureVideo HD. I know that the Geforce 8600gt has it, and you can get that for about $80.

    The issue is not which operating system is better but which is easier. The concept is that OLPC computers are going to children that do not have access to computers. As much as you don't like Microsoft it is easier to use for people who are not already familiar with computers.

    Okay, so I'm really not helping at all. I myself have earned extra cash repairing laptop hardware, cleaning up horrid computers running windows, and the occasional assisting of installing legal copies of OS X on the purchaser's PC. Mostly connected through word of mouth, so I don't advertise or anything like that.

    If you have well built software programming skills (with your previous code as proof) you would be surprised about the people who want a program to do x, y, and z and will give you a nice check to do so. I've done that 4 times in my free time, all with lawyers who a relative knew of.

    If you still have your foreskin, you can play "guess what's in the foreskin pouch" where you hide a random item by enclosing it with your foreskin. Not sure how much cash you can get from that - betting perhaps.

    The fact that one requires blind faith pretty much takes it out of the requirements for it to be a scientific theory.

    And if you really want to count Creationism as a theory, even though it requires the lack of evidence in order to follow it..

    Whether people like it or not, there ARE two major theories that both have evidence that can point to it

    There are not 2 major theories; there are more than 200 major theories! You don't understand what you are talking about. If you really want to limit how humans were created (from dirt and a rib and a finger from a supernatural man no less) then you are one ignorant person.

I'll continue to understand what theories REALLY ARE, and keep my own mind open on feasible possibilities, none of which are based on the supernatural.

    It should be taught in a way to show how it isn't science, and requires no evidence (it's belief based), and is specific to the judeochristian religion. Many other religions believe that the universe was created in a different way.

    Actually, you can probably download it for free without the DRM issues about 3 days before its official release date because someone in some big cracking group has connections. If not, then wait one hour after its official release; you will see it on TPB.

    Sad, but true. The release of Spore may have caused people to wake the fuck up about what Securom is.

    Probably from frustration that its more common for places to require a 4 year bachelor's degree over 10 years of experience, reputation, and a nice thick portfolio full of work. Luckily I did find someone who doesn't follow that BS. Maybe that's the way I should go the next time I am job hunting; I should give them the "I've only learned about Lie-nux because I saw a cute penguin stuffed animal, but I've played with the registry on my mommy's windows xp pooter so I have some administration experience, can I be your Lie-nux admin?"

    This person doesn't know how to set up LAMP at all - he or she is clueless on how to do this. As a long time Slacker myself, I agree with you that Slackware is the best choice to learn about the innards of Linux, though this person sounds like he or she took that big MS ego of theirs and somehow got a Linux admin job - now clueless from how to install apache via the distros package management to optimizing the kernel.

    Also, it doesn't sound like a real enterprise level situation at all. The fact that you had to start up your own server at home sortof shows that you have never touched a unix shell in your life.
