Erm. I mean... um... obviously there were some payments under the table to ISO.. yeah... how many countries do we need in order for them to get that MSXML is not only not functional, but shouldn't be any standard. Anyone got a tissue I could use?
This won't give admin rights to the app. UAC to the rescue. If the Aliens in Independence Day had used Vista instead of OS X then UAC would have stopped the human virus running and they would have been able to complete their conquest of Earth. I don't think they were using 10. it was MacOS 9 I think. Aw shit, I'm ruining the humor of/. by being an anal geek. Ignore what I just said.
Maybe I'm lame, but I still have an old 128MB thumb drive that has lasted this long. I wonder when it will reach vintage state? Yeah, I know. probably never.
And in later news, Martin is still having issues deciding whether to allow the Sirius/XM merger to go through, due to fear that that will become a monopoly capable of taking down the US economy. Exxon/Mobil was good to go though. His only worry is that the cost of services will rise, and as a result people will starve to death if they can't afford their satellite radio.
Salty. Red. Once covered in liquid. God, that reminds me of going down on my girlfriend 2 days ago. She didn't tell me she was on her period. After I finished, I was lucky to see my new red mustache in a nearby mirror.
read to what i was replying to. It was a response to hardware support in linux and using non-gpl hardware. Your response has nothing to do with what point I was trying to show - that linux hardware support has yet to reach a level of friendliness, especially with wireless, where it should be. Why didn't your grandma install it herself? Your response has nothing to do with what I said.
If your goal is to just insult, at least don't ne an AC. It makes your point worthless. And read what I typed before you bleed through your ego tampon.
I use gpl software in slackware. If the kernel supports it, it works. The main issue these days with stuff like ubuntu is that it's designed to be picked up automatically. You arent supposed to have to compile drivers, and set up the configs. This is usually what causes peoples issues with wireless. I've solved a ton of wireless issues by simply compiling the driver modules and network settings. Especially when one is trying to use ndiswrapper - it is a ton easier to compile the driver, set it up with the windows driver files via command line than it is to go through repository hell.
I am not saying that Ubuntu is for lamers, and real linux users compile; I am simply stating that linux isn't yet ready for simple computer users who have only mastered the mouse quite yet.
I suggest Slackware to all linux software and kernel developers, just because you don't have annoying distro-specific frontends in your way. There are no odd programs that you have to get around. It's Linux the way it should be. You get all the development software by default, and compiling isn't a mess (especially with shared library hell).
I took a quick look at TFA, and for some reason it didn't feel like a Linux developer's distribution. It looked more like a developer's distribution for Ubuntu-specifics. As my reading was more like skimming i might of taken in a part wrong. someone correct me if i did.
And that, was, "REAL OPINIONS - WITH HOST - FROSTY PISS"
Heh don't take that as a troll; I just find anything that has the phrase "frosty piss" in it humorous.
Ok back to the subject matter that you were replying to: I've always found something odd about DARPA, compared to ARPA. I guess advanced research projects agency sounds like something funded for the sole purpose of continuing to succeed in the new discoveries and development in technology; you turn that into a government department (DARPA) (and yes, I know that the name ARPA doesn't mean they aren't a government agency), it sounds like some agency paid for with our tax dollars who's sole purpose is to design the latest death ray to kill the commies with. (think 70s/80s cold war). Heh, this is definitely an over-exageration, but you sorta get the idea. I read "robot cllimbing walls" and "funded by DARPA" it makes me think of automated spies or suicide bombers from a more humane prospective. Or maybe they'll just be automated peeping toms. who knows. Thanks for letting me rant few strange ideas from my buzzed, twisted imagination at 3:00am.
I got myself a small thin 12.1" Dell Latitude D420, a refurbished one to be exact at a nice price. The only 2 things that are bad with it is a) it has the miniscule speaker in the corner (i didn't expect much though, so its not really a problem) and b) This battery fucking sucks. It used to be 2 hours to last, now its already down to 1. makes me question whats so portable about it.
I'm gonna think about getting a new one, but still, i expected more, even from a refurbished laptop.
Gentoo isn't for people who want to check their email immediately. It's for people with an open source developer mindset, that's all. I'm sure Gentoo (along with FreeBSD, Slackware, and anything that doesn't depend on bathing itself in the hellfire known as binary repositories) will work fine on this. Most large apps compilation wise like OpenOffice.org and Firefox come in precompiled binaries as is.
A die hard Linux geek having driver issues? I'm sure if you are a die-hard linux geek like me you would *gasp* learn how to compile and troubleshoot the damn drivers themselves. No Ubuntu package hell BS. I can't think of how many times people didn't want to put intelligence into supporting their device(s), because they are looking (and still looking) for some package to install to support it.
Yes, you can call them linux users, but hardly geeks, and definitely not die-hard ones.

Human Rights Management? Oh, you're talking the Patriot Act?

1) Actually complete a sentence and
2) Link us to the real thing! Seeing a pumpkin isn't shocking.
Shameless, just shameless.

Nasty Maannnnnn!
agreed.
Alright thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully the cost isn't too crazy. my guess is you're talking about the 9 cell battery and not the 4 cell?

Have fun. It won't be long before your little XP beastling will be "begging for a little more" though.
Hehe WIth XP Pro with the most tax. Well, at least they are following the consumer's interests...

Open source legal CSS-encrypted DVD playback? can someone explain...
