I'm a little confused too, but my understanding coming away from reading the article is that Safari is still required to execute the exploit and that if a user had Firefox but not Safari on their computer, they would not be vulnerable at all.
The credibility of the memo lies in the fact that the project ultimately did get canceled. Your example manager here is handling criticism by questioning the credentials and credibility of the folks who were more than likely correct in their assessments of the project, which makes him look like he's just puffing out his chest and mindlessly defending a doomed project for fear of losing his own job - instead of, well, actually addressing the criticism.
The one I work for hasn't hosted a local usenet server in years, if at all. We have some sort of arrangement with a third party provider and just point our news record at them.
Don't forget you're probably looking at a handful of in-home repair guys who wipe/reload Windows boxes at $40/hr using corporate copies of Windows they lifted from their office as a side job and don't officially establish themselves as businesses or even pay taxes on what they earn, too.
That was true two or three years ago, but with with as little time as Bush has left in office, by the time everything's said and done we may have already elected their replacements. There's nothing left for either of those two to do except go on "farewell" tours to Europe and such.
New Activation Process and BRE:
The iPhone 3G will be activated at point of sale when the device is purchased, in store. The BRE period will change from 14 days to 30 days and will require the device to be returned to place of purchase before service is cancelled.
If you're traveling alone, yeah. Amtrak wants $250 to put me on a train to a city 1300 miles from where I live, and at $4 a gallon I'd spend that much in gas if I drove myself. That's one way, mind you.
Only if you were into the gaming/Blu-Ray aspects as well. If you're buying a PS3 just to make a Linux box out of it, then you're better off going to Newegg and building something out on your own.
I think the 10GB is just for the OS, then the remaining 200-something gb of the drive is for saves, game installs, media, etc. May check into this myself next weekend after I pick up the MGS4 bundle.
Yeah - I seem to recall last time around McCain was supposedly too centrist for some folks' liking. Is a 71 year old man going to change his policies so much in 4 years that he'll make a significant dent in this perception? I'm guessing not.
This sounds like a magazine more than anything else. Not like the Virtual Console or XBLA. I doubt anybody's going to care about the content released through Qore next year, let alone 20 years from now.
After the battle, most just hung up their cares and said "Meh...upscaled DVD is fine".
Yeah - having a single high-def format is fine, but to rehash what a lot of people said while the format war was in progress I still don't think it's a killer app for most people the way DVD was over VHS. It's no surprise that Blu-Ray still hasn't taken off the way some had hoped/expected it would.
I truly doubt that this will stop another repeat of the many viruses that plagued Windows in the past from happening.
That's ok, because that's not the intent of the committee anyway. They're just checking to make sure Microsoft is abiding by the 2001 DOJ settlement.

Anything that says "sudden death" on it tends to be like that.

More like -1, Internet Tough Guy
Scotty, I need warp nine! "Och, ye canna change the laws of physics, Jim!"
Good for you. Here's a cookie.
That, or "please return this CD to us when the album is released" - otherwise everybody will just not "finish" using the CD. :)

Sounds to me like if you "can't find" your phone, they'll just keep billing you for the service.

Southwest wants $300 for a round trip ticket.
and a house since you need a place for all of those pants.
The house is optional, but then again so are the pants
Hey, those aren't mistakes! That's the refs "allowing the game to be played" ;)
NBA: Irrelevant since Michael Jordan retired (from the Bulls, that is)

Yeah, there are programs like that in Japan and South Korea too, and I imagine other places as well.
Yes. You also missed the memo that said you needed to start putting cover sheets on your TPS reports...
Wrong. His career as a "video game analyst" at Fox News starts in 5...4...3...2...
8 years, not 4. My bad.

That should make quite the ensemble with their automated puppy kickers and the ninjas they hire to rip the tags off of pillows before they're sold.
