The point wasn't that there ins't enough uranium on the planet. It was that the shortage in supply due to increased demand will increase the price so much that it will become uneconomical. Similar to oil, there is more of it you just have to figure out how to get it from 25000 feet below the surface of the ocean, which costs more. I am not disagreeing that we should use breeder reactors. We are essentially throwing away a lot of potential energy by not using breeders and by not re-processing fuel.

Do you actually know any CEOs? I mean personally? I interact with just a few of them from time to time and the ones I know are not lazy or stupid. In my experience they work very hard. It is just that they devote a good deal to things you don't find value in (climbing the corporate ladder). The ones I deal with are also accutely aware of the business they are in and don't disregard the customer. Again it is a mixed bag. You have to remember that they are supposed to maximize profits for the company. Yes I think everyone here would agree that one good step is to produce a good product, but just because you can find some flaw or something that you don't like doesn't mean the CEO is stupid or lazy. A lot of it comes down to compromise between the many forces at work in business.

Thanks. I was thinking the same thing about a year ago. Well, I started riding my bike to work (about 8 miles each way). I know that not everyone can do that but people can do more than they think. For example, if you can take your bike once a week you will probably cut your gas consumption by around 20% (depending on how much you drive on the weekend).

I was thinking about this exact thing the other day. The office I work in has about 300 people in it and 6 (that I know of) IT staff that do nothing but fix our computers. If you assume that each one costs the company $150K/year you could pay for a new macbook every year (just throw the old one out) for every employee if you could get rid of just 2 of them. I don't know if Macs would make that possible though.
