In the end, the question is do you trust Microsoft or not? The ways I see it, Microsoft is the biggest enemy to Open Source. If we defeat it, we set an example for others to emulate. I could also say, hey, I love you man, your the greatest!!! but do you really believe me? especially when you know I'm sarcastic?

  3. militant, defiant, rebellious on Microsoft's Open Source Guru Faces Tough Fight · · Score: 3, Insightful

We are open source, we accept all code but we are also a community. This community must be respected. Corporate entities will run all over us and then want to be friends. Must we lie down and take it or resist and be defiant because we are the movement? I know what I am saying is controversial but I say it with a reason. Bow once and bow a thousand more times. Microsoft is the main enemy, defeat him and we will conquer all. I may be in the few, but I say rise because the time is now and it is time to strike.

Fact of the matter is, we live in a paradox, we compete for money, but also for technology, and power, it is all a competition. We hurt each other for it and the sense of having everyone work together is the highest ideal that we try to work through laws, but it just isn't the case because certain people want to be "better" than other people by having more material possessions and the social status that accompanies it. Why do we have money that separates us? the same reason we have achievement on xbox360 and trophies on ps3 and why we have different levels of degrees in college. In the end, just look in the mirror, although we do incredible things, we are from a family of monkeys but we are too proud to admit it.

From my point of view, anytime any institution mentions child porn, they are actually using that as a cover to gain control. Since when did everyone become so altruistic and when has child porn become a rampant problem? The FBI has been using this line also but only to gain control over the networks for other purposes. The ISPs will be the same in which case, it is the first blow against net neutrality for them. It is also a clever trick since no one would be against a plan to go against child porn. A bit of a political move in my eyes.

  13. Re:Reaching corollary on Apple Climbs Into Third Place In U.S. PC Market · · Score: 1

I think macs reaching 10% can have a positive impact on linux adoption since hp and dell would be looking to compete with apple by having a better integration of hardware and software along side the current computer and laptops they offer. The easiest way they can achieve this is by using linux, since creating a separate OS would be too big a task for companies that are mainly hardware based. I know this is all theory but from my point of view, it would be the easiest way for hp and dell to compete with apple.

China is becoming a bigger and bigger enemy by the day. First, its all the hacking into our government and then trying to control tibet. I mean they're going after the Dalai lama, the peoples religious leader, have some respect or decency at least. I don't see how China is fit to host the Olympics. Do the athletes know that people are dying in tibet just so China can run the Olympic torch through tibet? Its all messed up. They are not ready yet. All that without even touching on censorship. And so from now own, I will refer to China as Va China.
