    I was doing the beer drinking part. As a note of caution, combining beer and slashdot might resuly in typos.

    Plus, it is US students, so beer is still illegal until 21.

    All it does is create a history stack then store it as a cookie. The history is then used to power the back button in whatever the application is.

    What'll intrigue me is when someone comes up with a way to integrate the back functions of ajax and friendsto work seamlessly with the browser back button. Hmm... someone should do a Firefox extension.

    The hardest part would be deciding on a standard API for this.

    Screw FFXII(I'm a turn-based fan myself. Long live FFX.). I want to know what this FFVersusXII thing is. There is a total void of information on it. The only thing that is stated is that Tetsuya Nomura (Kingdom Hearts and Advent Children) is leading the project. Just hearing that makes me salivate. Supposedly it will run parallel to the FFXII world and the "versus" in the title means something about changing directions. All very cryptic; all very exciting.

    I didn't know it was possible to get excited about the FFXII suite of games before FFXII has even hit American shores, but it's happening!

    Even if Best Buy assured me they would destroy it, I would still grab a couple utilities to write nonsense bits onto the entire drive several times.

    Of course, my biggest question is who is silly enough to throw out working storage space? My inner packrat insists that precious Gigabytes should coveted.

    Oh I don't disagree that there can't be threading in games. Eve Online abuses Stackless Python allows threading without much overhead. The posts their devs have made say it is actually a more natural design process to have things threaded. Hopefully more games will use multi-threading in the future to take advantage of the dual or quad processors running in new high end machines.

    Of course, the GPU is still a choke point for most high end shooters, but I can imagine some massive RTSs that are meant to abuse spare CPU cycles.

    Even though every uber-gamer is gonna need a 4x4 for bragging rights and IPE(Imaginary Penis Enlargement), it won't be that much of an upgrade for hardcore gaming until more games break out of the single-threaded event loop. Multiple processors only work on multiple threads.

    I hear rumors that people use processing power for other things, but I think those are just myths. (Actually I just started to work for a high-performance computing group and they'll probably be excited by the new AMD offerings)

    Afterwards, ya, I'd think it be great at frying sensitive areas. Laptop is a misnomer for this machine.

    I don't think this bill will change anything since I, along with most minors, don't have a morbid interest in violence.

    I would rather like to think that my interest in violence is more of a primal adrenaline fueled one.

    Clearly, this bill is not anti-video game. It's anti-emo.

    It downloads an image file with adult content from the Internet and opens that file in a new document, according to Kaspersky's posting.

    I don't call that a virus, I call it a feature.

    Hopefully the next version will allow you to enter keywords to guide the image downloader.

    For some reason, the text in the article makes my head hurt maybe cause they like to use really-long-hyphenated-words.

    For the headache prone:

    Google scares us. We are putting more money into R&D while also copying Google's succesful business model. We want to be the best. Oh yeah, China should provide a juicy source of income, but we aren't seeing much revenue because of piracy.

    Oh yeah, the article notes that Microsoft has $35 Billion in cash.

    By estimations you could completely fill 16.5 olympic sized swimming pools with all that cash in $100 bills. It'd been even more volume if you wanted to be able to swim in it like Scrooge McDuck. (But think of the paper cuts)

    'tis funny to watch, though. What happens when all of the modders discover girls and suddenly find something better to do with their time?

    It doesn't work. I've tried time and time again to get girls to let me install case windows in them to see their insides; they always decline. I can't even get them to let me install underskirt neon lighting.
