But, isn't the purpose of homeland security supposed to be to protect citizens from non-citizens or are they just a universal police force to be used against Americans now?
The specific area of neurolinguistics which I am talking about is, Neuro-linguistic programming. Which is a specific model for how the brain works. Keep in mind that it is a model, which is something like a theory. The model is made to fit what evidence can be derived from the brain, so somewhat like the theory of evolution it only works so far because its a darn good basis and hasn't been dis proven.
If I may be so bold as to suggest a Wikipedia visit for a quick lookup. Link.
Besides the Wikipedia article to explain it is to say that humans think of most things in areas of different senses. You feel like you want to go to the beach (Kinesthetic), or you say you think you want to go to the beach, while visualizing it. Sometimes people will say, "That doesn't sound right." This is them using their auditory mental pathways to come to a decision. Also for example "This doesn't feel right." Is them using that internal kinesthetic to come to a decision. There are many interpretations of which things constitute a sense, and the field often doesn't not agree on one whole idea. Another basic idea, is the concept of Conscious and unconscious decisions and actions. People who have studied NLP often are able to employ hypnotic abilities on others, purely by the concept of reading them, and then getting them to think a certain way and then getting them to think what you want them to think.
Here is a video of Derren Brown using such methods and it being explained. Link.
But to be purely upfront it is merely a model for the mind works, and even though it seems to be effective on some cases, there are a number of cases where it is not true. Hopefully with recent advances in biofeedback the science of it can be perfected.
Wow, after reading this comment I feel you are brilliant. This goes along with the Neuro-linguistic idea. A guy looks at a guy and instead of a sexual response failing it succeeds, and he goes "Ok, it is Ok to be sexually attracted to a male." Thus he 'becomes' gay.
My biggest tiff is with people who spout that they didn't have a choice. The science that has been dug up so far only shows a correlation between a physiological element and sexual orientation, not which caused which. Now since they have also proved that there is a physiological difference between people who like Chocolate and Vanilla flavoring, people will be less likely to bring up that ticket.
Just because you like Chocolate doesn't mean you can't eat vanilla. Anyway I rambled, sorry about that. Just saying, I agree with most of what you said in the last sentence there.
I disagree. Just because my instinct tells me to eat doesn't mean I have to eat, I still have a choice. Just because my instinct/body tells me to stick my penis in a warm soft spot in order to stimulate it, doesn't mean I have to. In fact I have yet to stick my penis anywhere and I am going on twenty. I also get instincts to have sex with I am around, does that mean I chase them down and rape them. No, your instincts are your bodies way of telling it wants something and what it wants.
Why not just not listen to it.
No, animals don't have a choice because they rely on instinct. Human's have a choice because we don't rely on instinct.
Then again it is always nice to know there are a number of people out there, who have instincts telling them not to procreate. Population control in the genes, genius.
The Idea of why an advanced AI wouldn't use Eudenics is along the lines of.
Hurting a human emotionally is almost as bad as hurting them physically. Although able to make a distinction between the two, we need to realize a humans emotional needs to be taken care of.
Of course they could just sedate us all and place us in some sort of perfect virtual world. Haha.
Your first argument is invalid, if it was, then it would hold anyone writing any review of anything would need written permission from the person who owns said product.
The fact that you think that NCsoft owns all reviews and journalist documents about Guild Wars, makes more of your arguments questionable.
Isaac Asimov touches on this in his book "I, Robot"
In the last part, humans are hurt on the small scale for the betterment of the majority. Basically compassion for humanity overrules compassion for the human.
Or, once this trojan finds its way into the right hands, it would be altered and spread across the net for a DOS attack on the server who receives the information.
Yes, and pretty soon we will all have to be like each other, if your stronger than me I can make the government require you to wear weights. If you are smarter than me we can give you drugs to dumb you down, then you will be just like everyone else.
All I am saying is in this case these people, for one reason or another work better in this environment and along comes the ruler and goes, no you can't work like this. Besides they are obviously bad, it's the Star Wars mentality.
Down in Texas Wal-mart pays about a dollar an hour less than HEB, as well as the fact they have less benefits but they are a larger company than HEB so their practices make sense. It all comes down to Labor Unions in the end.
It could also be the thought of having someone over your shoulder constantly, a number of drivers like their jobs, and do it because of the independence which is gained by it. The fact someone isn't watching over them 24/7 Changing the work environment might be what they are against, and using privacy as an excuse.
In this case Average is a very useful for the point of which it is pointing out.
You can't refute his saying that with your definition, but you can refute the study with an argument about their methodology as you seemed to hit on the last bit, but in case you were wondering yes, the methodology behind most studies involving men and women studies are based on a average of 100-1000 randomly chosen men and women. Who are then compared physically.
Someone needs to send an E-mail spoofed from the RIAA, to the administrator reporting almost all the students. See how they 'feel', about their policy then.
In the year 2068 not many people noticed when a law was passed preventing you closing your shades, not many people noticed or cared. After all their parents had always told this generation if you have nothing to hide then it doesn't matter. One person noticed though and that was dada21. This is his story.
In all seriousness though, I believe you would probably protest if say you were required to wear a wire all day which sent information to a global database. Or every time your body started getting excited it alerted some federal agent somewhere that you could be getting it on, because the chip you had implanted sends them information about your vitals at all time. Don't worry though, they will be able to track you to your home and prove you are either killing or doing your wife.
I don't mean to attack you, just trying to paint a visual image for you here. If you become uncomfortable when someone is watching you do the dirty with your wife, well then there you go you want privacy.
If only I had known about this before I killed my Contract with Sprint. I paid 200 to get out of my contract. The problem was I was paying 90 dollars a month. After I switched, I now pay half of that with my current company, and pretty much have all the same features. In my opinion Sprint is NOT a very good company.
This list does seem to have some Epic Fail, mostly in part to a good number of missing titles, as already mentioned by other posters. I do see though that there is a bit of method to their madness as the spectrum of games they had to go through were very broad. I seriously believe this list would be more accurate say, if people were asked to submit a list of their favorite games from 1 to 100. Each game would be awarded points based on location in the list and then the list would be updated regularly to reflect online opinion. Of course this could miss out on a vast number of people who would never see the list. Also it would probably be better for everyones list to be dynamic, able to change on a whim. So when they play a new game they could go back in and go, wow that beat my game 99 I'm going to move the list down and put that in there. Then the combined list gets updated.
But why is it always Germany?

Look at the user who submitted it for an explanation of why.
Never before have I heard a better explanation for why people play Halo. Thanks Rick.
