Those "locks" do nothing to protect the data, and the drive still spins up when power is applied. You can even retrieve the password if you know what you're doing. Full drive encryption is a much better solution.
When you reach OT3 you have to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you find out about the space aliens. Scientologists also believe that this information can kill anyone who is not prepared to learn it. Bunch of loons this bunch.
I would have just left after making my purchase, if one of those rent-a-cops would have tackled and detained me I would file charges of false arrest and kidnapping along with a civil suit. After all, they have no legal right to detain you.
Working on a DP rig isn't exactly working at sea. Hell I bet you get to go back to shore just about every day. BTW, comment on the "real knowledge" of seafaring when you've done a bunch of UNREPS and VERTREPS in a storm.
Internet access at sea is quite slow though, its doubtful that he will be able to upload many photos during this time period. The best thing to do if you'll be near coastal is to have a cellular modem in your laptop. There is also no way that he will have access to the full sat bandwidth since much of that is reserved for ship operations. You'd lucky to get full 56k most of the time. I know this because I am a professional mariner. Internet on ships is usually limited to email and basic web surfing for the crew. Not to worry though, when you're in port there will be many places you can get online at. Sometimes the port itself will even have free wireless.
I guess I should have gone on a rampage the likes of which this country has never seen by now considering all the violent games I have played over the last 15 years or so. Not to mention all the violent movies I watch. Give me a break.
Does anyone actually think t[blockquote]Does anyone actually think that these 'fishing expeditions' are protecting children or making us safer?[/blockquote]
No! 99% of the time the government says its "to protect the children" what they really mean is "give up your rights so we can wipe our ass with another piece of the constitution". Besides how in the hell is obtaining search records going to keep porn away from kids? I dont know about you but when I was younger I knew where my dads stash of playboys was.hat these 'fishing expeditions' are protecting children or making us safer?

If he had done anything worthy of criminal punishment, they would have hit him with something. A suspended sentence means the prosecutor doesn't want to lose his high conviction rating and admit to the press that he did something stupid.
Yep, he never should have taken the deal. You cannot convict someone for the actions of others.

And just how do they know that the drilling caused the quake?

How do you lose "public" data? The classified stuff is what you need to worry about.
I don't know about you but I don't carry stuff around that cant be used. And don't they need a warrant to track your phone anyway?
The Wii uses IR not bluetooth. That's what the bar that goes on your TV is for.

I wonder if they're planning on speeding up the melting of the ice sheets up there? They are after much of the oil in the area after all.
One of the problems people had when Vista came out was that MS dropped a lot of the old legacy APIs, this is why Windows 7 has the "XP Mode".
Just read what it says on the back of your ticket, in fact they tell you to not check things such as laptops because they do not insure them.
And words aren't printed on your screen?
This is nice and all but when will they start putting power outlets anywhere besides business and first class?
Customs searches prosthetics all the time.
They would still need to know the date, time and location the movie was pirated out.
Plastics photodegrade, I doubt oxidation speeds up this process.

In cases like this they should be ordered to pay back DOUBLE what they made.

Get a G1 without a contract and use it for 3 months. After the 3 months are up get the unlock code from T-Mobile and use it with AT&T.
My ex-girlfriend bought one yesterday and absolutely loves it. She's already got AIM and other IMs working on it.
Proof that restraining orders are worthless.
Watch out, they might throw you in prison.
