    A Wind+Solar+NG filler system is price competitive with Nuclear today, needs little fuel (only when both wind and sun in some area are low), is risk free and has little environmental impact.
    So why, again, would anybody build new nuclear plants?

    Something did melt because TEPCO measured neutron radiation which indicates a small amount of fission.
    What and how much is anybody's guess.

    I found that Firefox works well with all our ancient corporate Web apps. Sometimes you have to patch the User-Agent header to pretend you're IE6 but everything I ever tried (e.g. ooold proprietary MSIE/VB based crap and old commercial stuff like PeopleSoft) just works. It seems that they have all the right backward compatibility hacks.

    I didn't say that guns are a problem or a solution.
    I only uttered an opinion about people who think they need guns.
    Civilized countries (like Japan and most other advanced nations) have special organizations for that. They're usually called "cops" or "soldiers."

    Pumping water into the ground at high pressure seems to do the trick. It happened in the past and most recently at several fracking sites.
    Of course you could also trigger the big one this way.

    150GB/month is less than 60 kB/s. Almost anything you run around the clock will exceed the cap.

    Have you ever heard of control electronics and that you can turn off power generation in seconds by feathering the blades?
    Otherwise your wind turbine or generator would disintegrate during the first storm.

    How hot does the core have to become for hydrogen to be generated? Does anybody know?
    My recollection is that you need white-hot temperatures. That would indicate that some regions of the core are out of the water.
