if anything of what their current driver release for linux is, it has full 3d accelleration plus the much needed xv interface, I presume this code is in the release of the Framebuffer
Take a look at Machinae supremacy for a moment, they've been releasing their stuff online for ages, that and their latest album overworld "mysteriously" got leaked a month before release, I'm sure as hell buying it,
Another example where p2p has boosted sales is uplink and darwinia, the developers leaked a version that flagged itself up as being a pirate, and left a message on your screen saying something like "This is a pirate, we hope you enjoy it. Now go buy the full version".
Get your act together and come up with a solution that doesn't involve shoddy DRM or other people to fix! the era of everyday technology is here already stop trying to flog us CD's at rip off prices.
If you would care to read the press release for a moment...
Nokia intends to continue to enhance Trolltech products through active and ongoing development, for both desktop and mobile. To further stimulate industry innovation based on Trolltech's products, Nokia plans to continue to license Trolltech technology under both commercial and open source licenses.
Namely the section that says Nokia plans to continue to license Trolltech technology under both commercial and open source licenses You will see that KDE will NOT die, because the GPL version has not been pulled, and is planned not to be pulled either. So stop scaremongering already.
I don't see why xbox live has to be as bad as it is, your paying £40 a year for this so called service that doesn't work all the time. Why can't Microsoft follow a working system where they don't milk the cash cow for all they've got and write a system that actually works. This just reassures me that sticking to PC games and steam was the right choice.
That's not to say steam doesn't have its crashes, it happens occasionally such as steam friends rebooting randomly, But I haven't had a problem getting a game going or playing online since the release of Half life 2. And on the up side of steam, I am not wasting £40 a year to pay for a dodgy service.
god this is the usual crap from 3drealms, all they have released except the 2001 trailer is CGI footage. surely noone believes they have even started this game properly.
two frame buffers, hang on this sounds familiar, is it not our good old friend doublebuffering?
and *sigh* and people tell me that the xbox 360 is this all powerful machine, it cant run a modern (in PC terms) game at native resolutions to monitors, isn't it time that people realize that "next gen" consoles really aren't?
and people bitch at me for spending a large amount of money on my PC speakers and amp (£500 home cinema amp + speakers), instead of buying the cheap £40 ones. also I can tell the difference between a 128K mp3 and a CD fairly easily, thats why I use high VBR to encode.
Gotta love how not many people have looked at PC games on high end systems then...
I heard the same crap about the Halo 3 beta, HD or not, I was not that impressed by it, It had graphics I saw 2 years ago with things like Half life 2: episode 1 and battlefield 2142.
Cell or not, I'd rather see it on a PC anyway.
One major problem of lasers as weapons, the enemy goes "oh no lasers!" rolls their tanks/troops back, then paints the tank/armour silver, and bingo, problem solved. Lasers simply bounce off them!
A prime example is valve software's steam platform, you get access to multi player, content delivery and everything minus the subscription, plus the range of games keeps growing fast. you pay for just the games (i.e. the retail price or less), not for logging in.
But I've found that a *nix based system implements this far better, it's the reason my TV tuner card can talk to all my media players, everything gets bunged into one interface through a set type of calls, that way everything can interact, including the different mail clients to my mobile phone. Interoperability is very important. its like every card can use every car space, the cars are different, the spaces aren't (except for those damn small ones!)
Its a lot simpler to work out the velocity,
23x340 (Mach 23, 23 Times the speed of sound) is 7820ms-1 (Nearly 8Kms-1)
the scarier thing is how much energy is required for a launch at this speed for a 1Kg projectile (E = 1/2MV^2 anyone?)
E = 1/2*1*7820^2
E = 61,152,400J
Thats the total energy out to get mach 23, Then onto power:
P = E/t (energy over time), lets say 2hours and 6 hours. (7200s And 21600s)
t = 7200, P = 8493.4W
t = 21600, P = 2970W
Now thats not too bad, 8.5Kw or 3Kw, Your choice, These things are big but the electricity demand will be larger, a LOT larger due to heat resistance in the electronics and such other things.
Anything with windows mobile running, because you can run PuTTy, some HTC products even have keyboards on them

also read the EULA, this sorta stuff has to be specified in the EULA, thats why valve havent been busted for it like microsoft have been :rolleyes:
Heh I just think its a really strange way to do HDR,there's plenty of good ways to do HDR without using so many buffers to achieve it.

"Charging for what was free"
shouldn't this be "Charging for what is free"

theres another solution, switch servers to one that isn't based in an RIAA controlled country.
Ive had a server for at least the past 5 years now at home, this year we upped the server count to two. they're both linux boxes now :)

Adblock runs PERFECTLY on FF2 :)
Ive had no issues on both windows XP and Ubuntu, I dont know what you are all moaning about, FF2 is back with a vengeance and better than ever
Why is it the first image I saw was a nuclear reactor floating in the air? that would be far cooler but I guess a boat makes more sense :(

Seems more like psychic paper to me (Dr who reference) You'll be able to brute force a standard symetric encryption instantly the way i see it,
the word 'hobo' comes to mind. also Hubnester Inferno anyone? seems like the site is likely to crash and burn just like in the song... looks bad too.
