Don't get me wrong, if I could get Ornette Coleman's Free Jazz or The Orb's Blue Room in lossless format for 3 bucks each, I'd consider it a bargain. At 40 minutes each, though, they'd probably be priced considerably higher.
You know, you're absolutely right. I should spend 30 to 40 bucks to get an album's worth of music as lossless downloads. Hmmm...On second thought, I'll just go out and buy the CD for 13 bucks...
Indeed. They'll look into and conclude, "Nothing to see here. Move along." This will in turn buy the music industry about 10 more years before another investigation can even be launched...
Oh, he knows exactly what he's doing. Google "religious freaks." Guess what comes up? Every time he posts a comment and tacks that on the end, Googlebot snags it and bumps it up cos it's coming from a reputable site (well, PageRank-wise at least;) Slashdot sigs don't have the luxury of being indexed (you gotta be logged in to see them).
If I had a 360, I'd spend 20 or 30 bucks and buy one of the Midway classics discs for the original xbox. You get these games, plus another 20 other great (and some not so great) games.
That's because it doesn't EXIST! Get over it! You've been duped!
Shows what you know! I put in a preorder at Gamestop a few years. Yeah, they have my $600, but I'm guaranteed to be one of the first people with a console when it's released...
I've worked at a few places where seniority trumped skill. Thankfully, I've also worked at several where it didn't. The sad truth is that the "lesson" that WoW teaches is in fact real in many places.
Saw a Mythbusters recently where they went to a driving skills course and performed some basic driving tests (parallel parking, getting through a curvy course in 45 secs or less while staying on the road, emergency reflex test, etc). They did the test sober, while on a cell phone and answering questions asked by the person on the other end, and while legally drunk. They all did worse while on the cell phone than when drunk.
The nav systems in both of my parents' cars only allow you to set a destination while the car is in park. I'm not sure if this is particularly common, or if it's a safety feature that's been added recently (both cars are newish--one 2005, one 2006). It seems to make a fair bit of sense to me.
Check out the CamiTools plugin for Camino. It adds several of the features you mention. The only things I'd like to see it feature that it doeesn't are the FlashBlock menubar toggle (avail in FB1.5), and movable tabs. It also runs a lot faster that both Firefox and Safari, which is important if you're using a 4-year-old mac...
Very inneresting. I downloaded the Secunia.mov.zip file on my XP machine at work. Looking at the unzipped files in a text editor, you get the Secunia.mov file which contains "/Applications/Calculator.app/Contents/MacOS/Calcu lator; exit". In the __MACOSX folder (resource data), there is a._Secunia.mov, which contains binary data and the string "/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app". Basically, it's a shell script that fires up calculator and exits.
As others have said, it's a result of the split off of the resource metadata in OS X. As mentioned, disabling the 'open safe files after download' option in Safari will fix it, too. Or just use Camino. That coupled with the CamiTools plugin seems to do just about everything I need.
I have to say that I find the adventures of Karl Dilkington to be pretty humorous, but there's no way I'll ever pay 7 bucks a month to listen to Ricky and Stephen make fun of him...
The neocons need to get out of their little alternate universe of spin and start dealing in the real world, like the old-school Republicans of Bush H. W. Bush's administration.
I just wanted to point out that a lot of the neocons were working for Bush Sr. However, he knew enough to keep them on their leash and not let them run wild with their little pet theories. This restraint is what led them to form the PNAC and find someone gullible enough to serve as a puppet while they pulled the strings in the background.
There was an AP wire story of this that popped up on Newsvine a few days ago. I'm not sure how many other news outlets have run the article or reported on it themselves, though. I do admit that this is only the second time I've seen it, so it's obviously not getting a whole lot of play in the mainstream media.

This post is far more insightful than funny...

Do Cajuns have traditional markings?

From what I could tell from the past week, it's either this or this. :
All the best to you.
Why is this modded 'funny'? If anything, it's insightful!
Lego my ego!

Thankfully, the overabundance of Starbucks helps me maintain my wifi connection...

I could never even load a gutenberg on the ram.
Sounds kinky. I guess that explains why she's your ex...
Here's a piccie of it. Whoops, no underscore between 'nice' and 'job.'
Microsoft ad from 2001:

Remember, kids, only commies make stuff themselves, a good consumer buys it!
I didn't know MacGyver was a commie...
I guess you didn't listen to last week's episode...

Perception also is a 'big' challenge for the software giant.
Indeed. Many people "perceive" their software to be bloated and buggy.
